We all know the Football League is a manic, relentless rollercoaster ride for any team, but Wrexham are often busier than most, be it on or off the pitch.
The Red Dragons are right in the middle of the League One title race, while also pursuing glory with an EFL Trophy run that sees them in action tonight against Bolton Wanderers in the quarter-finals.
Phil Parkinson’s men had looked like they might get a bit of a calmer February, with postponed matches initially leaving them plenty of breathing space in the calendar.
However, cup progress has filled in the gaps since, and now, we finally have a date set for the league game against Leyton Orient, and it’s pretty soon.

Wrexham vs Leyton Orient tie gets a new date
Information regarding the rescheduled game, which had to be moved back due to Orient’s involvement in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend, first emerged via the club’s Twitter/X account.
Interestingly, Orient wrote: “We have been mandated to fulfil the new date for our League One fixture away at Wrexham on Tuesday 18th February.”
The word “mandated” caused some debate online, with suggestions that this fixture scheduling has not gone down particularly well with the Leyton Orient chiefs.
There has been no significant word from Wrexham about the matter, other than a general update outlining the new date for the game.

February just became a lot busier for Wrexham
This means that Wrexham now have four more games to come in the second half of February, including tonight’s EFL Trophy tie with Bolton.
However, if the Red Dragons do progress in the cup, they will have to find a date for the semi-final in the February calendar, too. Birmingham City play their semi-final against Bradford next Tuesday, on the same night as Wrexham host Leyton Orient at the Racecourse Ground.
| Date | Opponent | Competition |
|---|---|---|
| February 11 | Bolton Wanderers (H) | EFL Trophy QF |
| February 15 | Northampton Town (A) | League One |
| February 18 | Leyton Orient (H) | League One |
| February 23 | Mansfield Town (A) | League One |
| February 25/26? | Peterborough (H) | EFL Trophy SF |
Wrexham or Bolton will face Peterborough in the other side of the draw, with the game set to take place in the week commencing February 24th. Given Wrexham play on the Sunday, that semi-final would likely be pencilled in for the following Wednesday.
So, while February began as a month with four away games only, it has now expanded to possibly include seven fixtures. The only positive, of course, being that Wrexham do now have home matches to look forward to, rather than battling for points on the road.
