Stockport County have confirmed the signing of Manchester City’s Ben Knight as they battle Wrexham for promotion.
Wrexham missed an opportunity on Tuesday night, drawing 0-0 at home with Harrogate Town.
Wrexham just couldn’t quite find that key moment of quality to win the game and rival results were a mixed bag.
Crewe Alexandra won but both Milton Keynes Dons and Mansfield Town were beaten away from home.
A win would have taken Wrexham level with Mansfield at the top, so we can understand some disappointment after that 0-0 draw.
Harrogate are a strong side away from though and certainly knew how to frustrate Wrexham.
The big winners may have been Stockport County, who sit one point behind Wrexham and three behind leaders Mansfield whilst still having two games in hand.

Stockport announced on Tuesday that they have signed Manchester City talent Ben Knight on loan until the end of the season.
We know what you’re thinking; how have they made a loan signing outside of the transfer window?
Well, Stockport’s official announcement claims that Knight actually signed on loan during the January transfer window.
Stockport suggest that they had an agreement not to announce the deal in order to allow Knight to focus on getting ready for first-team action with no pressure to play immediately.
Knight has been training with Knight for two months now and, having rehabilitated an injury, he is ready to go.
This is a strange deal and one we haven’t seen before with Stockport now able to call on Knight as they chase promotion.
The 21-year-old was something of a wonderkid at Ipswich Town and joined the City ranks back in 2018.
Progress has been slow for Knight since then but he did time on loan at Crewe Alexandra in 2021.
Knight’s bizarre move strengthens Stockport at a crucial time and he could now have a big say in the promotion race with both County and Wrexham chasing top-three places.
