Wrexham have big dreams under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds but the Champions League final may be a little ambitious by anybody’s standards.

The last few years have been a complete whirlwind for Wrexham fans.

Nobody would have believed you five years ago if you had predicted a Hollywood takeover at the STōK Cae Ras.

In strolled Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds with big plans and big media attention, making Wrexham headline news around the world.

We now see Wrexham on TV thanks to the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, as well as tourists flocking to the STōK Cae Ras.

It seems that everybody wants a piece of the Wrexham story right now and after back-to-back promotions, the hype is only going to grow.

McElhenney and Reynolds certainly have big dreams for Wrexham, which surely includes reaching the Premier League one day.

That is the rather lofty goal for Wrexham right now but it’s difficult to put a ceiling on what can be achieved.

The Champions League seems a little unlikely but you just never know.

Wrexham did though have representation at Saturday’s Champions League final as Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.

Directors Shaun Harvey and Humphrey Ker both watched on as the Spanish giants added yet another Champions League crown to their collection.

Ker took to Instagram to share a photo of the pair at Wembley, captioned with ‘Works’ end of season night out.’

Wrexham fans were very keen on the idea that Harvey and Ker were there to try and talk some superstars into turning up in North Wales.

Perhaps Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham can be tempted long, long into the future but for now, that is just a pipe dream.

Ker mocks Real Madrid

Harvey and Ker saw a great game as Dortmund had chance after chance in the first half but couldn’t take them.

Real inevitably took theirs in the second half, winning a 15th Champions League title in the process.

Ker had to remind Real that they will never win one thing though – the National League title!

Wrexham added that trophy to the cabinet in 2023 and Ker filmed himself singing at the both sets of fans fans inside Wembley.

‘You’ll never sing that, you’ll never sing that, Champions of the National League, you’ll never sing that,” chanted Kerr, showing his love for Wrexham on the big stage.

Ker will hope to see Wrexham back at Wembley again soon, especially after losing the 2022 FA Trophy final to Bromley.

Maybe a League One play-off push will be on the cards next season – and you can be sure that Ker will be there cheering Wrexham on as usual if that happens.
