Although he’s yet to start a single league game this season, Jordan Davies remains a crucial part of Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham side.

The 25-year-old midfielder scored the winner last Saturday during his 26-minute cameo off the bench against Salford, with the Welshman causing a huge threat upon his introduction.

Davies had eight shots in just 26 minutes, as Parkinson’s side peppered the Salford goal in the quest for a late turnaround.

It wasn’t just shots that he was causing havoc with, but he completed two dribbles into the final third – making a real impact on the encounter.

Jordan Davies deserves a start this weekend

Davies, despite not starting any league games so far, is the club’s joint-third top scorer with two goals.

The 25-year-old has scored 18 goals for Wrexham over his last two full seasons, with the midfielder always on hand with a goal contribution.

Undoubtedly, competition for places in the squad is huge at the minute, but his cameo against Salford last weekend has left him more than deserving of a first start of the campaign.

Parkinson’s side travel to face Bradford City on Saturday, another huge game against one of the pre-season favourites for promotion.

The midfielder has delivered when called upon off the bench, with Davies remaining professional despite his lack of consistent minutes.

After his impact last weekend, Parkinson would be foolish not to start the 25-year-old.
