Phil Parkinson could look to players entering the last 12 months of their contracts at Wrexham this summer.
Wrexham completed their first piece of transfer business on Saturday, luring goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo back to the Racecourse Ground on a three-year contract.
It was a deal that took a while to materialise but there will be a sense of relief and excitement that they persuaded the 22-year-old to return.
That is an important first piece of business complete but Phil Parkinson still needs many more reinforcements, including at centre-back, left-back, midfield and striker.
The 56-year-old previously said he’s looking at players entering the final years of their contracts, so with this in mind, here are five talents he should consider signing.

Thierry Small
Charlton Athletic triggered an extension in Thierry Small’s contract to keep him at the Addicks till 2025.
A product of Everton’s academy, the attacking left-back was signed in the January transfer window on a six-month contract.
Dubbed ‘fantastic’ during his loan spell at St Mirren last term, the 19-year-old played 14 times for Charlton in the second half of the season and earned himself a year contract.
That was a show of faith in the teenager but Wrexham could show him even more by putting in a teasing bid and landing an upgrade on Jacob Mendy.
Andrew Hughes
Parkinson wants a physically imposing centre-back to challenge the likes of Max Cleworth, Eoghan O’Connell and Tom O’Connor.
Andrew Hughes is an experienced Championship operator having made 215 appearances for Preston North End across six campaigns with the club.
The Welshman sees his contract expire in 2025, and although he featured 39 times in the second tier last term, Preston may be reluctant to give the 32-year-old a new deal and could offload him instead.
Robbie Brady
At the peak of his career, Robbie Brady was destroying defences for Hull City in the Premier League and scoring for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016.
Now, at the age of 32, the 64-cap international is playing for Preston in the Championship.
Brady is an attacking left wing-back, who uses his pace to fly up and down the left while whipping quality ammunition into the box.
Parkinson wants a new left-back to challenge Mendy and the man who has made 325 appearances combined in the Premier League and Championship would be a great addition.
Of course, persuading him to drop down to League One could be difficult but he is entering the last year of his contract.

Freddie Ladapo
Ipswich Town will be looking to offload several fringe players following promotion to the Premier League, and one of those is striker Freddie Ladapo.
The 31-year-old spent last season on loan at Charlton, and although he only bagged once in 14 appearances, the fleet-footed forward is usually prolific at League One level.
In his three previous campaigns in the third tier, he hit double figures for goals, including the 17 that helped Ipswich earn promotion in the 2022/23 season.
With a record of 67 goals in 215 appearances, the “relentless” Ladapo could form a deadly partnership with Paul Mullin in attack.
Davis Keillor-Dunn
Wrexham could move for Davis Keillor-Dunn this summer, a player who previously spent six months on loan with the Reds in 2020.
Keillor-Dunn has improved significantly since scoring once in six appearances for Wrexham, with the attacking midfielder carrying Mansfield to promotion glory last term.
The 26-year-old plundered 22 goals and supplied nine assists to earn the Stags promotion alongside Parkinson’s men.
Whilst prising the talented playmaker to the Racecourse could be difficult, he does have one year left on his contract, so it’s certainly worth testing the waters with a bid.
