Wrexham are looking to shift some of their fringe players off the wage bill before the transfer window slams shut on Friday night.
Phil Parkinson’s squad at Wrexham is huge and with only seven names allowed on the bench, a lot of their players miss out on a matchday.
New signings Lewis Brunt and Ollie Rathbone have discovered how difficult it is to break into the starting XI, as while Rathbone is nursing an injury, Brunt was left out completely in the win over Reading.
Several others have also struggled at the start of this season, including strikers Jake Bickerstaff, Billy Waters and Sam Dalby who all need to be moved out of the club, along with a player only signed this year.
Luke Bolton should force last-minute Wrexham exit
Captured from Salford City in January this year, Luke Bolton has failed to display consistency with his Wrexham performances and has always had competition ahead of him.
Last season, it was Ryan Barnett who won the battle for minutes in the wing-back role, with the 24-year-old flourishing ahead of his rival.

Now that Sebastian Revan has signed and James McClean is also capable in that position, Bolton has dropped down to third or fourth choice in the pecking order.
The Manchester City academy graduate did start in the Carabao Cup defeat to Sheffield United however, the attacking right-back was an unused substitute in each of their three league games and was even left out of the squad completely against Bolton.
With Barnett producing a Man of the Match display against Reading and Revan looking the part, the chances of Bolton playing regular football look increasingly slim, and he must force a last-minute exit.
Bolton doesn’t get to play his best position at Wrexham
Parkinson’s refusal to switch from his trusted 3-5-2 system means that Bolton doesn’t get to play in his best position on the right wing, and is instead shoehorned in at wing-back.
The Englishman is at his best when he’s driving at the opposition with his electric pace and wreaking havoc high up the pitch, as opposed to being asked to defend a lot.
He played on the wing mostly during his time at Salford and before joining Wrexham, registered five assists in 20 appearances.
Despite previously lauding Bolton as ‘outstanding’, Parkinson will perhaps feel disappointed at what he’s seen from him so far and it could be best for both parties if he’s shown the exit door.
Admittedly, selling the wing-back is unlikely as he’s important for depth, especially when Revan plays on the left, but if he wants regular minutes, departing in the final two days is the best option for his career.
