Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson must use the Chelsea fixture to see how he can fit George Evans into his starting XI.
The coming Wrex Coast tour fixture against Chelsea will be a huge test for Wrexham.
It will provide manager Phil Parkinson a good opportunity to see how his players handle top Premier League opposition.
Pre-season also helps the former Sunderland manager rotate his squad and evaluate what will be his strongest XI going into the 2024/25 League One season.
Parkinson has a variety of options in midfield with Andy Cannon, Elliot Lee, James Jones, Jordan Davies, and George Evans competing for a starting place.
Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have shown they were keen on supporting the manager after signing former Charlton Athletic captain George Dobson.
Dobson is a defensive midfielder who is likely to compete with Evans for a starting role at the Racecourse.
The former Derby County midfielder recently signed a contract extension in North Wales but will be eager to impress on the Wrex Coast tour to ensure he is the first choice.

Phil Parkinson has Wrexham midfield conundrum
It can only be positive that the former Bradford City manager has several quality options for his midfield three.
However, Evans will have to convince the manager he should play ahead of new summer signing Dobson.
The new Wrexham star is expected to feature heavily in the manager’s plans due to his impressive credentials.
The former Charlton man has previously worked under Parkinson at Sunderland, with the 26-year-old having over 250 League One games under his belt.
Last campaign, Evans was the number one choice for the deeper midfield role, with Cannon and Lee playing in front of him.
The Red Dragons boss can use the Chelsea game to evaluate who is likely to become his regular starter in the number six role at Wrexham.

Wrexham stars George Evans and George Dobson could both start
The Wrexham boss could have a solution by playing one of Dobson or Evans as one of the defenders in the back three.
The 56-year-old coach has previously used Evans as a centre-back and does like to rotate his deep midfield into the back line.
Wrexham star Tom O’Connor is another example of how the manager likes his deeper midfielders to have the versatility to play both roles.
In the recent fixture against AFC Bournemouth, Dobson was used as a centre-back which shows the former Bolton Wanderers manager is thinking of solutions to his midfield conundrum.
It will be interesting to see how the Wrexham boss lines up against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea side, and where Evans and Dobson fit into his tactical plans.
With both players expected to be an important part of the squad in League One, the fanbase could expect to see more versatility in the midfield heading into the coming season.
