The EFL released the fixtures across the board as Wrexham discovered their schedule for the 2024/25 League One campaign.
Wrexham are gearing up for their first season in League One for 19 years and will kick off the campaign with a home clash on Saturday 10th August against Wycombe Wanderers.
That fixture at the Racecourse Ground is followed by matches against Bolton Wanderers, Reading, Peterborough United and Shrewsbury Town to complete their opening five games.
Phil Parkinson will be eager for his side to make a strong start to the season having made a strong beginning to the transfer window with the signing of Arthur Okonkwo.
The towering goalkeeper was immense for the Reds on loan last term and to snap him up on a free transfer shows they mean business.
Wrexham’s aims for the 2024/25 League One campaign
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have made their feelings clear ahead of the new season kicking off.
The Hollywood owners are targeting a history-making third successive promotion to become the first team in the top five leagues of English football to do so.
With Birmingham boasting a reported £20 million budget and battle-hardened League One sides such as Peterborough, Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham all gunning for promotion, it promises to be their toughest challenge yet.
A fast start in the third tier could be imperative to keep up with the early pace setters, although there is one month in particular that could define their campaign.
March could be a defining month for Wrexham
March is normally the period in the footballing calendar where teams realise their ambitions, whether that is simply staying up, finishing in the play-offs or achieving automatic promotion.
For Wrexham, it is clear that while they’ve only just come up from League Two, there is confidence that Parkinson can mount a promotion push.
To successfully do so, they’ll have to overcome a very difficult fixture list in March as they play against a few potential promotion rivals.

- Saturday March 29 – Exeter City (A) – 3pm
Kicking off the month with a home clash against Bolton Wanderers, who lost in the play-off final against Oxford United in May, Wrexham then face fixtures against two sides that were relegated from the Championship, Huddersfield and Rotherham.
Rotherham have been one of the busiest teams in the third tier so far having already brought in 10 new players, including previous promotion winners Joe Rafferty, Liam Kelly and Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Last season, Wrexham looked at the final home fixture against Stockport County as one to target.
Now, if they are to achieve their ambitions of at least finishing in the play-offs, a positive run of results in March could be pivotal.
