Wrexham have completed signing number three of the summer transfer window having secured a deal for midfielder George Dobson.
Phil Parkinson will have been delighted with back-to-back promotions, leading Wrexham into League One in rapid fashion.
Parkinson will also have been realistic though, no doubt knowing that Wrexham’s squad needs major work ahead of the new season.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo was the first to arrive, penning a permanent deal with Wrexham after a superb campaign on loan last term.
Defender Lewis Brunt arrived just a few days ago, joining from Leicester City to add real depth to Parkinson’s defensive options.
Wrexham are really moving forward with transfer business now and a third signing was confirmed on Saturday afternoon.

George Dobson on Wrexham reunions
Reports early on Saturday morning suggested that Wrexham were set to win the race to sign free agent midfielder George Dobson.
Sure enough, 3pm hit and Dobson’s name was the one being pushed out of the now-famous HP printer.
Wrexham confirmed the signing of Dobson, adding a crucial midfield signing after seeing Luke Young move on over the summer.
Dobson’s spell as a captain at Charlton Athletic means Parkinson has added a leader to his squad whilst the deal sees the pair reunite.
Parkinson coached Dobson at Sunderland and the midfielder is actually joining forces with some of his former teammates too.
Speaking to Wrexham’s official YouTube channel, Dobson highlighted that he already knows Wrexham trio Eoghan O’Connell, Elliot Lee and Ollie Palmer having previously played alongside them.
Dobson has played with O’Connell at Walsall and Charlton before linking up with Lee at Charlton in the 2021-22 season.
Dobson also featured with Palmer at AFC Wimbledon, so the midfielder has a few familiar faces to lean on at Wrexham – and he feels that those connections will really help him settle at the club.
“When you go to a new club and you don’t know anyone, it is sometimes a little bit harder to settle straight away,” said Dobson. “I’m close with Eoghan, Ell and Ollie, so I feel like the settling in process is going to be really easy and they’ve said what a great group of lads it is and obviously the gaffer has as well, so yeah, I feel like it’s going to be a really easy settle,” he added.
Dobson to Wrexham a long time coming
Former Arsenal talent Dobson could have easily been saying these words less than a year ago.
Wrexham tried to sign Dobson from Charlton last summer but saw a deadline day offer fall short of the mark.
Parkinson may have felt that his chance had gone after seeing Dobson sign a pre-contract with Hungarian side Fehervar earlier this year.
However, Dobson annulled that agreement and moved on from Charlton last week, making him a free agent.
Wrexham were happy to pounce and finally bring Dobson to the STōK Cae Ras, striking another coup in the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era.
