Wrexham have added a third summer signing having pulled of the addition of former Charlton Athletic captain George Dobson over the weekend.
The League One season is fast approaching and Wrexham are busy bolstering Phil Parkinson’s squad.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo became the first signing of the summer last month, penning a permanent deal at the STōK Cae Ras.
Okonkwo was a top priority for Wrexham after dazzling on loan from Arsenal last season.
The permanent deal is a major coup for Wrexham and Okonkwo has been joined by defender Lewis Brunt.
Brunt impressed on loan at Mansfield Town last season and Wrexham have been able to secure his signature on a permanent basis, adding depth to Parkinson’s options at the back.
Wrexham have now added another signing, landing midfielder George Dobson on a free transfer.

George Dobson brings pre-game ritual to Wrexham
Dobson has been in a strange position.
The former West Ham United talent signed a pre-contract agreement with Hungarian side Fehervar earlier this year as he planned his next move.
However, Dobson has now scrapped that move and allowed Wrexham to pounce upon the expiration of his Charlton Athletic contract.
Dobson has penned a three-year deal with Wrexham, reuniting with his former Sunderland boss Parkinson in the process.
The 26-year-old will be looking forward to the pre-season trip to the United States and has offered an insight into his pre-match ritual.
Speaking on Wrexham’s official YouTube channel, Dobson admitted his only regular pre-match activity – eating pancakes!
That may sound bizarre but Dobson claims to have so much more energy since starting eating pancakes pre-game in recent years.
“Just eat pancakes,” said Dobson upon being asked of any pre-match rituals.
“Yoghurt, berries, banana and then either syrup or honey, whatever they’ve got. To be fair, since I’ve had it, I just feel like I’ve got so much energy. I’ve done it since I’ve gone to Charlton, the last three years.”
Dobson will be delighted as Wrexham’s head of medical Kevin Mulholland confirmed that pancakes are part of the club’s pre-game menu.
“Are they? Get in!” said Dobson as he prepares to bring that tried-and-tested pre-match preparation to Wrexham.
Dobson brings real experience to Wrexham side
Wrexham are making another step up and Parkinson needs reinforcements to cope with the League One battleground.
Okonkwo and Brunt are both up-and-coming players who have come through at Premier League academies and are now ready to really kick on in their first tastes of League One.
That is a transfer approach that we have been really hoping to see, but some experience in League One is valuable too.
Dobson is perfect in the sense that he is still only 26 but has racked up more than 250 appearances in League One.
Nothing in this division will come as a surprise to Dobson and he seems to be the ideal replacement for Luke Young in midfield.
Wrexham lost a leader and a consummate professional in Young, so in comes Dobson – a player who served as Charlton captain and has racked up the appearances in the third tier.
Dobson ticks the boxes for Wrexham and should be a player for Parkinson to really lean on in League One.
