Wrexham are in the market for another forward before the transfer deadline but one target is set to slip through the net.
Wrexham are just days away from starting the League One season and Phil Parkinson has done plenty of business this summer.
Arthur Okonkwo, Callum Burton, Lewis Brunt, Sebastian Revan and George Dobson all arrived before Dan Scarr completed his move on Friday.
Scarr has ben let go by Wayne Rooney with the Plymouth Argyle boss feeling that the time had come for a parting of the ways.
The experienced defender adds quality and leadership to Wrexham’s defensive options but the recruitment may not stop there.
Wrexham still need to bring in another forward before the transfer window closes and a host of names have been linked.

Kieran Bowie heading to Hibernian
The latest name in the mix is Kieron Bowie.
Reports over the weekend suggested that Wrexham are interested in signing Bowie but face major competition.
Queens Park Rangers, Barnsley, Peterborough United and Wigan Athletic were also named as being in the race for Bowie.
Hibernian were in the mix too and reports now suggest that the Scottish side are now closing in on a deal.
Sky Sports claimed on Monday night that Hibernian had opened talks to secure Bowie’s signature.
The Daily Record report that Hibs are ‘set to win the race’ for Bowie.
It’s stated that Hibs have offered a ‘significant six-figure’ deal to Fulham and an agreement is now close.
Bowie has been given permission to speak to Hibs and a four-year contract has already been agreed with the Easter Road club.
Hibs allegedly see Bowie as a future star and are set to bring the striker back to Scotland.
Bowie hails from Fife in Scotland and came through the Raith Rovers ranks before joining Fulham in 2020.
A Scotland Under-21 international, Bowie is now ready to move on permanently after two years on loan at Northampton Town.
Wrexham have other targets
Wrexham may now need to move on from Bowie but there are other targets in mind for Parkinson and co.
Reports last week suggested that Wrexham are keen on Bailey Cadamarteri as Sheffield Wednesday consider loaning him out.
Wrexham have also targeted Will Lankshear with the Tottenham Hotspur talent potentially ready for a first loan move.
Hull City and Sunderland have been linked too though, leaving Wrexham with a real battle for his signature.
Bowie seemingly won’t be heading to Wrexham this summer but Parkinson may now advance on other targets to bolster his attacking options with a loan potential the way forward.
