Wrexham have added signings number four and five with Phil Parkinson adding competition for places in his squad ahead of the League One campaign.

Phil Parkinson needed to bolster his squad with Wrexham rising from the National League to League One in rapid fashion.

The signings so far have been very encouraging, starting with Wrexham managing to sign goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo permanently.

Versatile defender Lewis Brunt and midfielder George Dobson were next to come in with Wrexham adding real quality to Parkinson’s options.

Two more new faces have now arrived with goalkeeper Callum Burton signing on a free transfer and Sebastian Revan arriving from Aston Villa.

We have already profiled Burton, so let’s now take a look at Revan after he agreed to sign on a three-year deal…

Who is Wrexham signing Sebastian Revan?

Revan hails from West Bromwich in the Midlands and started his career with Aston Villa.

Primarily a left back, Revan joined Villa at the age of just eight and emerged alongside older brother Dominic.

Revan has featured six times for the Villa first team but has spent three loan spells away from Villa Park.

Grimsby Town and Hereford signed Revan, handing him some National League experience in the process.

Revan took a major step forward last season, racking up 36 Championship appearances during a loan spell with Rotherham United.

The 21-year-old really showed his versatility last season, predominantly playing as a left back or left wing back.

Revan can also play as a left-sided centre back and even filled in on the right side of defence at times last season.

Eligible for St Kitts and Nevis, Revan has now decided to leave Villa on a permanent basis and join the Wrexham project – which may well lead to international call-ups down the line.

What the managers say about Revan

“It’s been a good loan for Seb because he’s been playing, because he’s been able to make mistakes on the job and learn from them. It’s not so long ago that he was stepping out at Fulham and making a real error that led to a goal. But he’s learned from that. He’s grown as a player and as a person.”

“If I was advising him, I’d probably advise him to stay at a club like ours, play another 46/50 games, and have a campaign where you’re hopefully going for promotion. I’ve enjoyed working with him. Firstly, because he’s an outstanding person. I’ve really enjoyed his attitude. He’s a pleasure to coach and a real credit to himself and Aston Villa,” – Former Rotherham United boss Leam Richardson.

“He was playing against a very quick player, so that was a good battle initially, but he did get forward, certainly put one good free-kick, the other one I think he over-hit. He’ll only get better. Watching him in training, he’s getting used to it, we did some running and you can tell he’s finding it tough. From where he’s come from, he would be classed as a fit lad, but it’s just a bit different for him that’s all. For just 18, I think he wants to compete, he’s a very honest lad, I don’t think there’s any kind of wrong attitude to him. He wants to do well, he wants to learn, he wants to impress, and I think he’ll only get better,” – Former Grimsby Town boss Paul Hurst.
