Wrexham take teenager on trial

Wrexham will be looking to add more talent and were prominent in that regard over the summer.

10 new scholars arrived over the summer, including former Manchester City talent Daymeon Alves Almedia and ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Umar Nawaz.

Wrexham are now looking at another prospect with teenager Miller McDonald arriving for a trial.

Fox Soccer Academy have confirmed on social media that London-based talent McDonald will stay with Wrexham ‘for a few weeks’.

McDonald, 17, has been described as a ‘quick, direct and skilful’ winger on Fox Soccer Academy’s official highlight reel.

The clips certainly showcase McDonald’s ability to go past players and make things happen in the final third.

Wrexham will now assess McDonald and weigh up whether to hand him a deal in the academy ranks.

Premier League winner involved in Miller McDonald development

Not much else is known about McDonald at this point but he is coming up in an academy set up by a former Premier League winner.

Christian Fuchs set up the Fox Soccer Academy in 2014 whilst playing for Schalke in Germany.

Fuchs won the Premier League title with Leicester City and set out to improve opportunities for young players.

Rejected in Austrian academies in his playing days, Fuchs set up a new pathway for talented youngsters.

McDonald is one of them and seeing him sign on with Wrexham would be a huge success for this project.

It’s now over to Wrexham to analyse McDonald and weigh up whether he is worth signing for the long term.
