Wrexham are now pushing to sign this exciting Championship midfielder ahead of the January transfer deadline tonight at 11pm.

The January transfer window slams shut at 11pm tonight, but before then, it looks like Wrexham will push to get some new signings over the line.

The Dragons have only signed Luke McNicholas so far this month but have had a fair few names on their radar.

And a new name is now on their radar; Rotherham United Jamie Lindsay.

Wrexham ‘pushing to sign’ Jamie Lindsay from Rotherham United

The RobRyanRed podcast confirmed rumours on X that Wrexham are in fact pushing to sign Lindsay from Championship strugglers Rotherham United today.

Lindsay, 28, has featured 12 times in the Championship this season, scoring once in what is his fifth season playing for the Millers.

The Scot has 152 total appearances for Rotherham, with eight goals and six assists to his name.

Wrexham also made checks on another central midfielder last week, scouting Newport County’s Shane McLoughlin in his side’s FA Cup clash vs Manchester United.

A quite month could end in flurry of Wrexham deals

It’s been a very quite transfer window in general, with Wrexham just about as busy as any team in the English Football League.

And it’s made for a climatic and chaotic deadline day with many, including Wrexham, looking to make some last-minute deals.

And it looks like a more holding midfielder has become a priority after links to McLoughlin and now Lindsay, though tempting the latter might be difficult.

Rotherham are in last place of the Championship and so they might think twice before offloading any of their players; even more so with the club perhaps planning for League One next season, meaning the likes of Lindsay will surely be used next time round.

But it’s another link that shows Wrexham’s ambition and Rotherham and Wrexham may yet meet in League One next season, and both could be challenging at the top end, so for Lindsay it could be an interesting move to Wales.

It could come down to money and how much Wrexham put on the table. And with it being late in the window, Phil Parkinson‘s side could yet table a hefty offer.
