Wrexham need to bring in a number of signings this summer as Phil Parkinson prepares for life in League One.
Wrexham will be playing third-tier football for the first time since 2005 having completed back-to-back promotions.
Phil Parkinson has a strong squad at his disposal, with plenty of seasoned professionals who will know League One well.
Wrexham do need new signings though with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds set to back another busy transfer window.
A host of players have already been let go and with Wrexham needing some additions, let’s dig into the squad as it stands…

Wrexham squad depth analysis
Goalkeepers: Mark Howard, Luke McNicholas, Liam Hall
Veteran stopper Howard has indicated that he has now signed a new contract to stay at the club, but it’s difficult to imagine him being first-choice next season. McNicholas has yet to make a league appearance for Wrexham but will be developed in the background alongside teenager Hall.
A new signing is certainly needed in goal and the hope is that Arthur Okonkwo will rejoin permanently with Humphrey Ker confirming that the Wrexham are ‘desperate’ to bring him back.
Centre backs: Max Cleworth, Eoghan O’Connell, Will Boyle, Thomas O’Connor.
Wrexham allowed three centre backs to leave the club this summer with Ben Tozer, Aaron Hayden and Jordan Tunnicliffe all released at the end of their contracts.
That leaves Wrexham with some depth issues at the back, even if Thomas O’Connor is considered to be a centre back rather than a midfielder moving forward.
Max Cleworth and Eoghan O’Connell were superb in the promotion push but Boyle had some ups and downs and will need to be more consistent next season.
Youngster Aaron James has yet to sign a new deal but may not be ready for League One action just yet anyway.
Marvin Ekpiteta is thought to be a target after leaving Blackpool, but Wrexham may at least two signings to bolster Parkinson’s back line this summer.
Right wing back: Ryan Barnett, Luke Bolton, Anthony Forde.
Wrexham added another right wing back in January as Luke Bolton came in from Salford City.
Bolton showed some promising signs but is likely to start pre-season as the second-choice right wing back in Parkinson’s mind, behind Ryan Barnett.
The forgotten man in this area is Anthony Forde, who hasn’t played for Wrexham since the 13th of January.
We would hope to see the Irishman back in action soon enough and he may yet be able to force his way back into the side once fully fit.

Left wing back: Jacob Mendy, James McClean, Daniel Davies
This is an interesting spot for Wrexham as Mendy played well in League Two but suffered injury problems towards the end of the campaign.
Veteran McClean can play at left wing back but has been used in midfield too whilst it would be bold to throw Daniel Davies into first-team action.
Callum McFadzean has moved on and we would expect to see Wrexham bringing in a new face at left wing back.
Tom Pearce is one name Wrexham could bring in with the former Leeds United talent believed to be wanted after being released by Wigan Athletic.
Central midfield: George Evans, Andy Cannon, Elliot Lee, Jordan Davies, James Jones, Owen Cushion
Luke Young has moved on and leaves a real gap in midfield, an area which Wrexham will surely look to strengthen.
Evans, Cannon and Lee can form a strong midfield trio in League One but depth is needed, certainly behind Lee as Wrexham’s main attacking threat from midfield.
James Jones has previously impressed at League One level but missed the final two months of the season through injury and it’s unclear whether Jordan Davies will have a big role.
Only one name has been seriously linked so far with Brighton and Hove Albion talent Marc Leonard believed to be on the radar.
The Scot will cost around £300,000 to sign from the Premier League club and impressed in League One last season whilst on loan with Northampton Town.
That would be an exciting addition, especially with Championship clubs keen, and Leonard would offer a player with resale value alongside proven players like Evans, Cannon and Lee.

Attackers: Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott, Sam Dalby, Jake Bickerstaff, Billy Waters
Much depends on Steven Fletcher here with the veteran striker yet to confirm whether he is signing a new contract to stay.
Mullin, Palmer and Marriott look pretty settled in Wrexham’s strike force and if Fletcher does stay, then only one more addition may be made.
Dalby may find himself out of the picture at League One level whilst Bickerstaff and Waters will return from loan spells.
Neither player is likely to play an important role at Wrexham as the club continues to move forward and Parkinson will be eyeing striking options.
Stephen Humphrys and Josh Magennis – two strikers released by Wigan Athletic – are wanted at Wrexham with free agents a key part of the recruitment approach right now.
