Bradford player-caretaker manager Kevin McDonald has called the hype around Wrexham “irrelevant” ahead of the Reds’ weekend visit to West Yorkshire.
Wrexham have won their last two games in League Two to firmly place themselves among the division’s playoff pack. Although fifth, the Reds are just three points off league leaders Stockport, proving just how tight it is at the top of the table.
Wrexham find themselves in fifth after another brilliant comeback, this time against Salford City. The Dragons were 2-0 down inside the first 36 minutes last week weekend but fought back to clinch a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Reds face a resurgent Bradford City this weekend
The Reds take on Bradford City this weekend, who are 11th in League Two having won their last two games under new caretaker manager Kevin McDonald.
The Bantams were previously managed by former Wales boss Mark Hughes, who was appointed in 2022. After guiding them to the play-offs last season, Hughes was sacked in early October after winning just three of the opening 11 games of the new campaign.
The Yorkshire team have enjoyed an impressive uptick in form since Kevin McDonald took over, beating Swindon and AFC Wimbledon by a goal to nil, either side of a 2-1 win over Grimsby in the EFL Trophy.

Bradford boss brands Wrexham hype as “irrelevant” ahead of weekend clash
Ahead of the sold-out game at Valley Parade, McDonald spoke to reporters about Wrexham coming to town.
The Bradford caretaker boss dismissed the ‘Hollywood’ hype around the club as “irrelevant”, saying his team won’t be fixated on the outside noise that follows the Welsh club.
“The way their owners have come in and transformed the club is great for everyone to see,” he said of Wrexham. “But it’s irrelevant for us in my eyes.
“We need to put that aside. They are coming to Bradford City in front of 22,000 fans and it’s on how we approach the game.
“It’s brilliant for big Hollywood stars to come in and transform the club. But it’s one group of football players against another.”
“The main focus is on us”
He went on: “The main focus is on us and the rest hasn’t been mentioned.
“Everyone will be up for the game. Wrexham have not been overly-mentioned in our dressing room as yet.
“It’s great for them and the Football League but it’s irrelevant for us. We need to go and win a game of football.
“You can think about it afterwards and how great it is. I’m not taking anything away from them – but if it was on the flip side, they would be saying the same thing.”
Wrexham’s away game to Bradford kicks off at 3:00PM Saturday (21st October) afternoon.
