Wrexham secured their place in the next round of the FA Cup thanks to a 3-0 win over Yeovil Town this afternoon.
Yeovil Town travelled to The Racecourse looking to secure a win and all-important place in the FA Cup third round.
In recent weeks, Wrexham have been in good form and came into this one as favourites to progress. And that they did.
On the day Phil Parkinson named a very normal-looking side which boasted just a change in between the sticks as Mark Howard came in. This is after the injury that Arthur Okonkwo picked up last time out.
It didn’t take long to get going as Ollie Palmer opened the scoring after just 14 minutes he finished from an easy chance. Andy Cannon grabbed another goal as he doubled the advantage on the brink of halftime.

It took until the 93rd minute for the result to be secured. Sam Dalby came on and scored his tenth goal for the club.
A positive result that sees the Reds move into round three of the FA Cup once again where they will face Shrewsbury. Here are our player ratings…
Wrexham player ratings
Mark Howard- 6/10
With a clean sheet on his return to the starting XI, it was a quiet day for Howard in net. With just two saves to make he did what he had to to help secure the result.
Jacob Mendy- 7/10
Another positive day for Jacob Mendy who made the most tackles of anyone on the pitch. Despite not getting any goal involvement, he is still worthy of a good score in the player ratings.
Aaron Hayden- 5/10
Unfortunately, Aaron Hayden was forced off after just 16 minutes so he can’t get anything more than an average rating.
Ben Tozer- 6/10
Quiet day for Ben Tozer but he was defensively sound as ever as he made six clearances all while not having to make a tackle. A positive performance from the veteran as always.
Tom O’Connor- 6/10
Yet another solid enough performance. He won 100% of his duels and was once again defensively sound in the back three.
James McClean- 6/10
James McClean was good once again as he helped contribute to the clean sheet effort. His crossing could have been more accurate but bar that he was solid.
Andy Cannon- 8/10
Yet another goal for the Englishman who doubled Wrexham’s lead. He was taken off as Parkinson looked to maintain his fitness and even with that he is worthy of a positive score in the player ratings.
George Evans- 7/10
Yet another positive performance for this man who just controls midfield. With 93% pass accuracy and 100% ground duels won, George Evans is one top player.
Elliot Lee- 6/10
An uncharacteristically quiet day for Elliot Lee but he still managed to cause some problems. With six duels won, he completed the most on the pitch which is overall positive. He was also fouled the most times on the pitch such was his attacking intent.
Ollie Palmer- 7/10
Back on the scoresheet once again, Palmer alongside Mullin is a duo that just works. He maybe could have had another but don’t let that take away from the goal and his performance.
Paul Mullin- 6/10
Another man with an uncharacteristically quiet day as Mullin failed to get involved in a goal despite creating plenty of chances. With four chances he created the most on the pitch but none were taken advantage of, unfortunately.
