Wrexham produced a superb late show to beat Barnsley 1-0 as Ollie Rathbone’s injury-time winner sparked wild scenes at the STōK Cae Ras.
This was the final leg of Wrexham’s home triple-header with Phil Parkinson chasing another victory.
Exeter City and Lincoln City were beaten 3-0 and 1-0 respectively before Wrexham had the weekend off.
No FA Cup commitments handed Wrexham players a rest as Barnsley arrived at the STōK Cae Ras – and perhaps that helped Wrexham just find a little bit more late on.
It looked as if Wrexham were going to settle for a 0-0 draw but Ollie Rathbone popped up with a superb winning goal.
Rathbone’s left-footed strike arrowed into the bottom corner, sparking huge celebrations as Wrexham landed yet another home win.

Rob McElhenney blown away watching Wrexham
Wrexham fans inside the STōK Cae Ras were sent into delirium after Rathbone’s late goal and there were similar scenes some 5,000 miles away.
Tuesday’s clash with Barnsley was screened to a crowd in Los Angeles – and in some style.
Cosm hosted the game in ‘shared reality’, meaning fans were treated to the game on a 180 degree domed screen.
That made fans feel like they were really inside the STōK Cae Ras as they took a view from The Wrexham Lager Stand to begin the game.
Rob McElhenney was in attendance at this remarkable event in LA and took to social media to share his verdict.
McElhenney simply posted ‘this is incredible’ alongside a video of himself inside Cosm.
“I am not in Wales…what?!” said McElhenney as he marvelled at the view he was able to watch from LA.
How Glenn Howerton and Danny DeVito celebrated Wrexham win
McElhenney was not alone as he watched Wrexham pick up another home win.
Cosm themselves posted a video from the event as Rathbone struck the killer blow to hand Wrexham all three points.
McElhenney’s co-stars from ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ were also in attendance with Glenn Howerton and Danny DeVito both celebrating the goal.
DeVito was seen high-fiving Wrexham fans in a moment which will probably seem pretty surreal for many Wrexham supporters.
You would think that this Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era had brought just about everything Wrexham fans could expect.
McElhenney and Reynolds paid £2million for Wrexham in 2021 and we have seen celebrities take a heightened interest in Wrexham.
DeVito celebrating a Wrexham goal is still a real ‘pinch yourself’ moment though and the ‘Matilda’ is now fully aware of the presence of Ollie Rathbone.
Imagine saying that just a few years ago.
