Paul Mullin dedicated his two goals against Crewe this weekend to his grandfather who sadly passed away this week.
Paul Mullin scored his first two goals of the season as Wrexham salvaged a 3-3 draw with Crewe Alexandra at the Racecourse. Wrexham‘s star strike missed the start of the season after suffering a punctured lung in preseason. He has slowly been re-integrated into the side over the past few weeks and finally got off the mark with a brace this weekend.

Mullin bags brace against Crewe, including sensational overhead kick
Paul Mullin bagged a much needed brace vs Crewe as both goals were equalisers. New signing Steven Fletcher secured a much needed point for the home side after scoring an injury-time header to make it 3-3.
The pick of Mullin’s goal was an outrageous overhead kick that levelled the game at 1-1.
“There are not many players at this level or the two levels above who could produce finishes like that,” Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said after the game. “He’s had a tough week with a family bereavement but that was Mulls firing on all cylinders.”
Mullin reveals he lost his grandfather earlier this week
It has been an especially difficult week for Mullin, who revealed that his grandfather passed away just a matter of days ago.
“It has been a difficult week,” said Mullin. “My grandad got rushed into hospital on the Sunday and then passed away early in the week. He was my biggest fan. Once he’d gone, I knew I was going to score this week.
“I knew he’d somehow make some magic happen, and we got two of them.”
Paul dedicates his brace to his late granddad
Despite the personal bereavement, Mullin was still able to perform when Wrexham needed him most. His brace was pivotal in ensuring the Reds avoided consecutive defeats after a 5-0 loss to Stockport last weekend.
After the 3-3 draw with Stockport, Mullin dedicated his brace to his late grandfather.
‘They where [sic] for my Grandie’, he wrote alongside some snaps from the weekend’s game.
Fans flooded the comments of the post with condolences to Paul and his family. Others remarked on how proud his grandfather would have been with his performance.
‘Goals sent from heaven Paul,’ one account wrote.
‘Sorry for you loss @PMullin7 he’d be proud again of you today,’ another person wrote.
He certainly would have.
