Wrexham are back in action at 12:30pm UK time on Saturday, taking on Burton Albion.

The Red Dragons are set to reunite with a number of their former players when they kick-off this weekend.

Rob McElhenney sent a ‘beautiful’ message to one Wrexham star after he opted to join Burton Albion in the most recent transfer window.

Now, two and a bit months later, three of the club’s ex-stars could be looking to ruin their automatic promotion hopes.

Wrexham go into the meeting with Burton three points above Wycombe Wanderers but aware they could still drop down to third if the Chairboys win their game in hand.

As for Burton, they are flirting with the relegation zone, so still have plenty to play for ahead of kick-off.

Wrexham team and injury news vs Burton Albion

Despite playing out a very hectic season, Wrexham are largely injury-free going into the weekend.

George Dobson has been suffering with a problem but has been able to play through it and even scored against Cambridge United last time out.

Sebastian Revan and Ryan Barnett have both recovered from their issues as well, leaving Andy Cannon as the only reported absentee.

The midfielder is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery following an injury picked up against Mansfield Town.

Paul Mullin returns for Wrexham vs Burton Albion

Things had been going well for the Red Dragons, but a shock draw against 23rd-place last time out could see Phil Parkinson rethink some of his options.

Wrexham conceded twice in their last outing, with Lewis Brunt giving away a penalty.

Thomas O’Connor has played well during the limited outings he has been afforded this term and could come back into the defense this weekend.

Further forward, Jay Rodriguez is still really yet to convince following his arrival from Burnley over the summer.

Granted, he’s scored two goals but they were both because of penalties being awarded. From open play, meanwhile, he continues to offer very little attacking threat.

As a result, given his history of stepping up during key periods for the club, Parkinson could bring Paul Mullin back into the eleven.

The rest of the team is likely to look very similar to the one that lined out against Cambridge on Tuesday.
