Wrexham are looking to take one step closer to promotion when they face off with Burton Albion this weekend.
The Red Dragons are battling Wycombe Wanderers to secure a second-place finish in League One, but it’s expected to go right down to the wire.
Wrexham drew 2-2 with Cambridge United in their last outing earlier this week, but Wycombe also dropped points
It means Phil Parkinson’s men have a three-point lead but a worse goal difference and a game less to play going into Saturday’s action.
Wrexham are predicted to finish second in League One, but another slip-up against Burton could prove fatal to their automatic promotion hopes.

Rob McElhenney message to James Jones after leaving Wrexham for Burton
Burton have been dealt a blow before facing Wrexham and are sat 21st in the table, suggesting they are clear underdogs.
However, the U’s have improved in recent weeks, including securing a massive win over a play-off-chasing Leyton Orient in their last match.
To make matters worse for Wrexham, three of their former players could be lining out against them on Saturday.
Anthony Forde, Jon Daoi Bodvarsson and James Jones all left Wales earlier this year to link up with Burton.
After the latter’s departure, Rob McElhenney sent a heartfelt message to Jones.
He wrote on X/Twitter: ”I truly hate this part. James and his beautiful family are such a major part of our journey. They will be greatly missed.
“@burtonalbionfc you are getting a class player with a huge heart and wonderful family.”

How Anthony Forde, Jon Daoi Bodvarsson and James Jones have fared since Wrexham exits
Jones only played 26 minutes of League One football for Wrexham prior to his exit but has now notched four appearances for his new club.
Bodvarsson has had some injury problems since joining Burton but has still scored a very solid four goals in 10 outings for them.
As for Forde, he’s become a regular feature, already making five appearances – though he was left on the bench against Orient.
While Wrexham fans no doubt wish their former players well, they likely don’t want to see them play too well this weekend.
