Wrexham travel to face Walsall this evening as they look to make it four wins from four in League Two. With yet another suspension, let’s take a look at our predicted XI…
At the halfway point of the season, Wrexham are well in the hunt for back-to-back promotions as they currently sit in second.
There were some fears after the red card for George Evans that the Reds may struggle such was his form this season. Added to this was the impact of him on the midfield alongside more attacking stars, Andy Cannon and Elliot Lee.
This hasn’t been the case however given that every match without the Englishman has been won. Last time out a 1-0 win over Swindon Town was secured thanks to a James McClean winner.

With that being said, James Jones received two yellows and became the fourth player to be sent off for Wrexham this season.
Now the Scotsman is missing next time out, let’s take a look at our predicted XI…
Wrexham Predicted XI
Following his return to the number one spot against Newport County, Arthur Okonkwo will hope for a third consecutive clean sheet. There have been some calls to make his loan move from Arsenal permanent in January.
It must be said that the central defensive trio at Wrexham is always changing but after the performance last time out, it should stay the same. With Max Cleworth, Ben Tozer and Tom O’Connor the clean sheet against Swindon was well-earned.
The full-back roles will also be interesting as McClean played further up the pitch last time out. With that being said, our predicted XI suggests he will drop back into wingback and replace Anthony Forde. On the other side, Jacob Mendy will maintain his place.
In midfield, Cannon and Lee will maintain their roles in the heart of the Wrexham starting XI. Alongside them with no Evans or Lee, who should come into midfield. In our predicted XI, we suggest that Luke Young should start after he came on last time out.
As a result of McClean dropping back into defence, Paul Mullin should come back into the starting XI and retake his place. Alongside him, you’ve got to feel sorry for Sam Dalby after he was subbed off in all of the last three games. Despite not scoring, he deserves to keep his place and attempt to see the game out.
Wrexham predicted XI: Okonkwo, Mendy, Cleworth, Tozer, O’Connor, McClean, Young, Cannon, Lee, Mullin, Dalby
