Wrexham’s latest League One fixture saw them make the trip to Exeter City for a Saturday afternoon kick-off.
Wrexham are looking to secure a third successive promotion in 2024/25 but are facing heavy competition from Wycombe Wanderers.
That is why it was imperative the Welsh outfit secured a third win in a row when they travelled to Exeter City.
Phil Parkinson opted to start the same eleven that notched a 1-0 win over Stockport County last weekend.
This saw Wrexham fans asking about Paul Mullin again ahead of kick-off, with the striker missing for the 10th game in a row.
Away from the ongoing Mullin saga, it was a strong side and, on paper, should have been good enough to pick up three points.

What Wrexham fans chanted about Ollie Rathbone vs Exeter City
And it did not take that long for Wrexham to take the lead in the tie.
James McClean played the ball to midfielder Ollie Rathbone outside of the Exeter box.
Rathbone then smashed an effort goalward, with the deflection off a defender enough to wrong-foot the goalkeeper and put the away outfit 1-0 up.
It may not go down as the former Rotherham United man’s goal, but it should not take away from the fact that it was yet another goal contribution from the summer signing.
Wrexham fans in attendance certainly didn’t care if it was the player’s goal or not and made their feelings very clear minutes after the strike.
The supporters in attendance at St James Park could be heard loud any clear, with 27 minutes on the clock, repeatedly chanting ‘Ollie Rathbone, de, de, de der, der, der’.

Ollie Rathbone signing would not be possible without Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds
At the time of his arrival, Wrexham broke their transfer record to sign the Englishman, paying Rotherham somewhere in the region of £500,000.
Rathbone is becoming Wrexham’s most important player, in no small part due to his tirless work-rate and attacking threat.
He had five goals and two assists prior to Saturday, with his effort against Exeter set to earn him another goal contribution.
The 28-year-old has clearly been Wrexham’s signing of the season, and Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds deserve immense credit.
Four years ago, the thought of the Welsh outfit signing a player for around half a million pounds was simply unheard of.
But thanks to the North American duo’s backing, Wrexham are able to continue landing top-class players who, all being well, will fire them into the Championship for the first time ever.
