Wrexham welcomed Birmingham City to the Racecourse Ground for a Championship tie on Friday.
Both sides won promotion from League One last term and are competing in the Championship alongside one another for the first time.
Wrexham and Birmingham City expect high revenues in the 2025/26 season, with both sets of owners having their eyes on Premier League promotion.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s plan is to reach the top-flight by 2027, while there was an expectation before the current campaign started that the Blues would, at the very least, eye a top-six finish.
Birmingham haven’t had the best start to the season, though, drawing 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday in their previous match.
However, they are still a top team and were more than capable of causing Wrexham problems, especially at home, where the Dragons had not won all season.

Wrexham fans praise George Dobson vs Birmingham City
But it was Wrexham who took the lead on the night, and apart from the opening 10 minutes, dominated for large spells in the first half.
The opener came via George Dobson, who headed home after Max Cleworth directed the ball goalwards from a corner.
However, Birmingham managed to equalise less than 60 seconds after the second half kicked off.
During the clash, despite his clearance leading to the attack for Birmingham’s goal, George Dobson received much praise on social media during the tie.
One fan wrote: “Get in Dobbo, he’s been amazing this season.”
A second joked: “Cleworth still worth every penny! And Dobbie too I suppose.”
“Dobbo’s been ——- class hasn’t he?” asked another.
“Quality start to the season from him,” a fourth wrote in response to his goal.
Another Wrexham supporter said on the midfielder, “Get in lad! Top work as always.”

George Dobson giving Phil Parkinson welcome headache
After another solid performance on Friday, it has become clear that it will be hard for Dobson to lose his place this season.
The midfielder was expected to be a fringe star in 2025/26, but his early-season form has been excellent.
Ollie Rathbone is expected to return to the Championship squad soon, but he might find it difficult to become an instant starter.
Nobody in Wrexham’s midfield has played badly for long periods, which is a welcome problem for Parkinson to have.
