Wrexham and Birmingham City are once again going head-to-head in the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
The weekend’s action kicks off on Friday evening when Wrexham host Birmingham City.
Phil Parkinson’s side are still searching for a first home win of the season, while the Blues are looking to improve on their last outing, which was a 2-2 draw with a struggling Sheffield Wednesday.
Wrexham were predicted to beat Birmingham, which would have been the first time the Welsh outfit have done so in any competition since 1997.
Their new-found rivalry brought about by their high-profile owners began last term and saw the Midlands club come away with a 3-1 win in the first clash before drawing 1-1 in North Wales.
Now they are competing in the Championship together, we have taken a look at how the two sides compare financially.

Wrexham Championship revenue vs Birmingham City
Birmingham were ahead of Wrexham in pretty much every aspect during the 2024/25 season.
But that gap has been closed this term, especially when it comes to finances.
Wrexham spent £33m in the summer transfer window, which was significantly more than Chris Davies’ men (around £12.4m).
Meanwhile, Birmingham’s wage bill this season is slightly higher, but both are still paying out around £18m over the course of the year.
The two are very, very close when it comes to how much revenue they expected to make this season as well.
While we won’t have exact figures for some time, finances expert Adam Williams said that both Wrexham and Birmingham expect to make around £50m in revenue each in the second tier.

Why Tom Wagner thinks Birmingham City are bigger than Wrexham
Though the gap between the former Premier League team and Wrexham is closing, Tom Wagner doesn’t believe they are comparable yet.
Wagner hit out at Wrexham during an episode of the Built in Birmingham: Brady & The Blues documentary that aired over the summer.
When doing so, he said that the Dragons are not Birmingham’s ‘target’.
Wagner stated: “It makes me chuckle when Wrexham fans scoff at what we’ve spent and how we’ve gone about it, let’s be clear, Wrexham have achieved their success because they’ve driven commercial revenue.
“Birmingham have always been a much bigger club, our target is not Wrexham. If they have continued success then maybe one day it will be, but currently it’s not.
“Our target is to play Premier League football against Villa. Period. Full stop.”
