Wrexham fans have been reacting to George Evans following an excellent tackle that he made vs Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.
It was a good day at the office against Yeovil for Wrexham as they secured their place in FA Cup round three with ease.
Since Phil Parkinson came into the club, it has been clear that the FA Cup is to be taken seriously and this was shown again this weekend.
Town travelled to The Racecourse as they looked to cause an upset. Considering they currently sit top of National League South, they weren’t going to provide Wrexham with an easy game that is for sure.
With that being said, the Reds were able to secure a 3-0 win and a place in the third round of the FA Cup proper. Goals from Ollie Palmer, Andy Cannon and Sam Dalby were enough to confirm their place in the draw. The Reds will now face Shrewsbury in the next round.

In spite of the heavy win, there was one moment that got Wrexham fans talking and that was a terrific last-man challenge from George Evans.
What has been said about George Evans?
It is safe to say that the former Millwall man showed his class once again as he made a top-class challenge against Yeovil.
With the score at 2-0, the game was still somewhat in the balance and as a result, a goal from the away side could have changed the course of the game.
Rhys Murphy went through and was baring down on Mark Howard in the Wrexham goal. Across came Evans with a perfect tackle to get the ball away from danger. This saw the fans inside The Racecourse on their feet in admiration of the versatile midfielder.
This clip was posted by the official FA Cup account on Twitter and received plenty of admiration from not just Wrexham fans but plenty of others. Looking at the Reds’ fan reactions, it was clear they were pleased with Evans’ challenge.
It is safe to say that this fan believed that Wrexham have a proper player on their hands. In recent weeks Evans has been top-tier and has proved his worth in Parkinson’s side, especially in the midfield. Due to Aaron Hayden’s injury vs Yeovil, he was forced into the back line. Considering that he is more adept to playing midfield, you would never know, such was his performance.
This fan used the term ‘Rolls Royce’ which as a midfielder or defender is basically as good as it gets in terms of compliments. Given his performances, this is a completely fair comment for fans to be making.
Evans has been one of the best signings that Parkinson has made in recent years and given his pedigree he has been a real coup.
