Wrexham host Notts County for the first time at the Racecourse Ground since beating them 3-2 on the way to clinching the National League title last year.
Phil Parkinson’s men got back to winning ways in midweek by dispatching strugglers Sutton United as goals from Will Boyle and Elliot Lee secured a hard-earned victory.
It was their first victory in four League Two matches and there were a few players who have given Parkinson some food for thought.
Boyle, for one, has often been the pantomime villain this season after getting sent off in the defeat to Newport, but after scoring and playing incredibly at the back, he’s now nailed on to start.
Elsewhere, the substitutions of Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer changed the game for Wrexham against Sutton, so he’s been told to start both on Saturday.
While Mullin is likely to start after being rested, Palmer’s inclusion isn’t guaranteed after Stephen Fletcher and Jack Marriott both started in midweek.
One change that he could make is dropping defensive midfielder George Evans, who was taken off with injury and replaced by Luke Young.
If he is deemed fit, however, he should get the nod in midfield.
Aside from Evans, Wrexham defender Tom O’Connor is making progress in his recovery from a fractured foot, but he is not expected to return this weekend.

Arthur Okonkwo has been one of Wrexham’s standout performers this term. The on-loan Arsenal goalkeeper made some crucial saves in midweek against Sutton and will be called into action once more against the dangerous Macaulay Langstaff.
As for his back five, Luke Bolton should keep his spot at right wing-back after assisting Lee for his winner on Tuesday while the three central defenders are far from clear-cut, although it would make sense for Parkinson to remain with Boyle, Eoghan O’Connell and Max Cleworth as his defensive line with James McClean continuing at left wing-back.
Parkinson confirmed that Evans suffered a tightness in his glute against Sutton, which is why he was substituted, but the 29-year-old could be replaced by Luke Young, who impressed off the bench on Tuesday.
He could partner with Andy Cannon and Elliot Lee.
Lee didn’t have his best game in a Wrexham shirt on Tuesday, however, he popped up when his side needed him most with the vital winning goal. They may need him to produce more heroics against County.
The biggest dilemma facing the Wrexham boss is who to start as his front two. After being rested, Mullin – who has previously been lauded as “incredible” by his manager – will come back into the side, however, he has Fletcher, Marriott and Palmer to choose from to partner Mullin.
Parkinson could choose to go with the experienced Fletcher and use Marriott and Palmer from the bench as impact subs if required.
