Wrexham sealed a spectacular 3-2 comeback win, as well as a 12-0 victory, in a series of games at a seven-a-side US tournament.

Wrexham recently made a splash in the US after their end of season promotion party was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, over several days.

The Red Dragons also have a preseason tour lined up in America over summer, taking on the likes of Manchester and Chelsea in a series of friendly matches.

However, the Welsh club are already creating headlines overseas after they came from 2-0 down to secure a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Como 1907 in the opening match at The Soccer Tournament (TST).

The TST is a seven-a-side tournament featuring current, former and guest players, including Lee Trundle who played for Wrexham between 2001-2003.

The tournament is taking place in North Carolina between 1-4 June, with the winner walking away with a prize of $1million (£807,000). Premier League teams West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, plus Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, are some of the clubs to have entered.

In their first match against  Serie B side Como 1907, the Red Dragons trailed 2-0 after two halves of 20 minutes. However, they managed to stage brilliant comeback, scoring three goals during the target score period with Scotland and Burnley winger George Boyd netting the winner.

They followed that up with a 12-0 win over US Women

The team then followed that up by beating a US Women side 12-0 in the second match of the day. Lee Trundle scored four goals in the game, and told reporters afterwards, “I think it’s great especially to be involved in a tournament like this and for myself to get back with some old ex-teammates and get out on the pitch.

“The setup, the way they’ve done the tournament and the concept of it as well where you have to score that winning goal, we’ve seen today the best of that.”

Wrexham Red Dragons’ final group game at The Soccer Tournament takes place today (2 June) at 12pm ET/5pm BST against Say Word FC.
