The latest odds for next season have newly-promoted Wrexham down as a favourites to be crowned League Two champions.
Wrexham have been on an upwards trajectory since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club back in 2020.
The North Wales club gained international recognition through the Disney+ documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, which in turn generated legions of new fans.
After narrowly missing out on promotion in 2022, the Red Dragons finished top of the National League last season, a record that sees them return to the Football League for the first time in fifteen years.
Latest odds have Wrexham as favourites to win League Two next season
There’s no telling what Wrexham’s ceiling is under the new ownership, with dreams of the Premier League perhaps not as far-fetched as they once were.
Wrexham dominated the National League last season, losing just three times, and maintaining an unbeaten record at home.
Such dominance is unlikely to be replicated after promotion to a higher tier of English football. However, bookmakers fancy Wrexham’s chances of back-to-back promotions and have them as favourites to win League Two next season.
According to one oddsmaker, Wrexham are 7/2 favourites to win League Two in 2023/24, ahead of Stockport in second who are 6/1 to be crowned champions after losing the League Two play-off final recently.
Rivals Notts County, who were also promoted from the National League last season, are 8/1 to win League Two.
Should Wrexham fail to be crowned League Two champions, they are still favourites for promotion at 10/11.

New signings will be key
Of course, Wrexham’s promotion ambitions are contingent on which new players are brought in. The core of Phil Parkinson’s side is expected to remain the same, with the likes of Paul Mullin and Ben Tozer all returning next season.
However, there are question marks over goalkeeper Ben Foster who came out of retirement to help out at the back end of next season. At the moment it’s unclear whether he wants to do another season at Wrexham.
Equally, Reynolds and McElhenney will be wanting to add fresh blood, as well as experience at that level, for next season. So expect plenty of new signings before the first game of the season kicks off.
