Midfielder, James Jones has opened up about Wrexham’s start to the season and the depth they have at their disposal for league and cup fixtures.
Since late September, Wrexham have gone on an unbeaten run which now sees them sit in second place in League Two.
With three draws and five wins since a 5-0 defeat to Stockport County has put Phil Parkinson’s side in the mix for promotion.
As well as the great league form, the Reds are still fighting on two fronts in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy.
In the past week, wins over Mansfield and Port Vale have secured a place in the second round and round of 32 respectively.
The starting XI has been rotated for cup competitions and wins have still been achieved, such is the strength in depth.
What has James Jones said?
The Scotsman has made 11 League Two starts this season and has become a mainstay in Parkinson’s midfield three.
Speaking with Leader Live, Jones has admitted he is happy to fill in where needed: “I want to play football, that is what I am here to do. Whether the gaffer wants me to start or wants me on the bench, I just want to help the team.”

With wins helping the Reds to progress in cup competitions, squad depth is a hugely important factor moving forward.
On that, Jones added: “We have got a really good squad and the strength in depth is top-drawer so hopefully it continues.
“If we can keep picking up wins in the league, that is our bread and butter. But it is important to win games like in the EFL Trophy because if you get a knack for winning, it’s a massive thing in football.”
It is safe to say that the Reds have found a way to win games on a consistent basis in the past months. Eight wins out of a possible 11 have proved that point, to say the least.
It is clear the mindset that Parkinson has instilled is top tier, Jones added: “It’s a win-at-all-cost mentality and we have got that in the squad so it is important to keep that momentum going.”
With plenty of the season still to go, Wrexham fans will hope that this form can be maintained and promotion can be secured.
