Wrexham star, Elliot Lee has won PFA Fans Player of the Month following a superb run of form across October’s unbeaten run.
Elliot Lee signed for Wrexham at the beginning of last season. He played a big role as National League promotion was secured.
Under Phil Parkinson, the Reds have had a great start to life in League Two, sitting in fourth place.
There have been many star performers but none more so than the Englishman. He has even seen Championship transfer links arise recently. With that being said, such has been his top form, he will not want to be lost in January.
What has Elliot Lee said?
In the month of October, Lee scored three in six games as Wrexham won four and drew the other two.
This has contributed to his League Two goal contributions which have now reached 12 in just 18 matches this season.
All this has seen him named as the PFA’s Player of the Month in October, a well-deserved accolade for the former Luton man.
Discussing his award with the Wrexham website, Lee said: “I’m delighted. It’s been a good start to the season and it was a good month for me personally and the team.”
The midfielder has contributed as the Reds maintained an unbeaten record across the whole month. This saw them rise up and go as high as second.
With that being said, the midfielder had suggested the award didn’t mean as much given how long of the season remains.
Discussing that he said: “I’m really grateful to all the supporters who voted for me. Personal accolades are lovely. Team ones at the end of the season are the ones that make it all worth it.”
It is good to see the attitude that Lee has that nothing is won yet and isn’t counting his chickens yet.
In saying that, it must be said that the man signed on a free last season has been a revelation. This was in the National League and has continued on into League Two.
With 12 goal involvements in just 18 matches, if he continues that form up throughout the season he will finish around 30. That would be a truly amazing record for a central midfielder in a newly promoted team.
Although he wasn’t so fussed about winning the award, it is always good to see Wrexham players picking them up.
