Wrexham are regularly turning heads thanks to Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds but Channing Tatum has now sparked interest again.

Wrexham fans are no doubt used to the hype and furore around Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds at his point.

McElhenney and Reynolds purchased Wrexham in 2021, securing the club for just £2million.

Wrexham rapidly became one of the most talked-about clubs in the game with McElhenney and Reynolds driving major interest.

Over the years, so many celebrities have been involved around Wrexham from Paul Rudd to Will Ferrell, from Hugh Jackman to Blake Lively.

Channing Tatum visited Wrexham earlier this season and the Hollywood star has now been featured in an advert with the Wrexham squad.

Anthony Hopkins on Channing Tatum’s Wrexham advert

Tatum has filmed an advert alongside the likes of Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin as part of STōK Cold Brew’s latest campaign.

Brought in as a dance teacher, Tatum’s role in the advert is to help Wrexham players with their goal celebrations.

We see some shadow boxing from James McClean and a perfect look of bewilderment from Phil Parkinson as he walked in on his players dancing along with Tatum.

The advert has earned widespread praise with Welsh acting legend Anthony Hopkins sharing his reaction on Instagram.

Hopkins featured in a STōK advert last year, which depicted him as Wrexham mascot Wrex the Dragon ahead of the Super Bowl.

Tatum is the new face of the STōK advert with Wrexham but Hopkins just gave a reminder to everybody about his involvement with Wrexham.

“This Welshman is still the fire breathing dragon,” said Hopkins, whose advert last year was similarly well-received.

Ollie Rathbone celebration on display

Wrexham fans will have spotted that, towards the end of the advert, players are seen clapping with their hands above their heads.

That may have rang more than a few bells for some Wrexham supporters.

Ollie Rathbone celebrated in that exact manner back in November having scored in a home win over Exeter City.

Rathbone said ‘don’t worry about the Rathclap’ but his celebration managed to make it into Tatum’s advert.

Maybe we will see a few more moves from this advert moving forward, though Elliot Lee seemingly flying on Tatum’s back is one we can’t envisage seeing again any time soon.
