Since their Hollywood takeover, Wrexham have had many big-name EFL players arrive in North Wales, but former Red Dragons player Ben Tozer believes one player is destined for the Premier League.
It is expected that the club will be busy in the transfer window this summer, with owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney set to support Phil Parkinson in improving his squad.
Addressing the no.1 spot was the main priority heading into this summer window. The Wrexham boss secured one of his key targets in Arthur Okonkwo with the former Arsenal academy star signing a three-year deal at the Racecourse. It is likely after securing Okonkwo’s signature that the 56-year-old will shift his focus to other areas of the pitch.
After the departures of defenders Ben Tozer and Aaron Hayden, it is likely that additions will be needed in the backline. The level of quality in the league is higher this season, leaving Parkinson wanting strength in depth in his squad.
The former Sunderland manager does have solid options at his disposal with Tom O’Connor, Will Boyle, and Eoghan O’Connell all featuring prominently in the manager’s plans.
The Red Dragons also have promising academy graduate Max Cleworth, who is increasingly becoming a present member of the starting 11.

Ben Tozer claims Max Cleworth has ‘Premier League written all over him’
Earlier this week, former Red Dragon Tozer appeared on Ben Foster’s podcast Fozcast. The pair discussed all things Wrexham, their time together at the club, and their predictions for the future.
One of the predictions the former Cheltenham Town defender had, concerned his former teammate Cleworth.
Speaking about the 21-year-old’s potential, Tozer said: “I think Max has gotten Premier League written all over him.
“But it’s whether he wants to go to the Premier League now, and not play because realistically he’s not going to start, but to be fair he might.
“Or does he stay with Wrexham, go all the way up through to the Premier League and possibly captain the club and go that route?
“He’s got those two options at his disposal, and he’s still only 21.”

Wrexham don’t need to sell Max Cleworth
The North Wales club has previously seen many talents leave for bigger clubs playing in higher divisions.
Before the takeover, the Red Dragons needed the money and didn’t have the same pull.
It will be interesting to see how Wrexham would react if a Premier League or a top Championship side approached Cleworth.
Parkinson is aware of the youngster’s talent and will be keen to keep hold of him.
Cleworth may believe the Welsh club is the best place for him to progress. He plays regular football, has come through the academy, and has a strong connection with the fans.
It remains to be seen if any offers come in for the defender, but, with the current project, the club are in a much stronger position to keep hold of one of their talents than they were in previous years.
