Wrexham have now ranked among the elite teams in Europe for one metric in a recent report which has been released today.

Following promotion from the National League, Wrexham have took to life back in the Football League like a duck to water.

With Phil Parkinson in charge, the Reds have gone from strength to strength and are fighting at the top end of League Two. With 14 wins so far this season, they currently occupy third place in League Two joint with second place Mansfield.

There have been many standout performers so far culminating in the most recent thrashing of fourth-place Barrow this weekend.

Thanks to a Steven Fletcher hat trick and a Paul Mullin wondergoal, the Reds secured a 4-1 win in a top-of-the-table clash.

With their top form and excellent showings in front of goal, they have no been revealed to be up there with the best in Europe for one statistic.

Wrexham amongst Europe’s elite

According to FotMob, Wrexham have scored 52 goals so far this season which ranks them in the top three most in League Two. This sees them sit as the fourth top scorer in the whole of the EFL, at the time of writing.

At the other end of the pitch, the Reds have conceded 36 goals in their 25 games this season. 13 sides have conceded more than them this campaign in England’s fourth division.

This just goes to show how good the Reds have been in front of goal and defending so far this season. With that being said, a stat has now come out showing how good they have been from set pieces.

Today a graph has been posted by StatsBomb on Twitter that shows Parkinson’s side and their quality from set plays.

With xG per set piece and xG per set piece conceded on each side of the graph, it shows their quality on each side.

Wrexham are in the top right-hand segment of the graph which means they are positive at both attacking and defending set pieces. This sees them named amongst some elite sides including Arsenal, Juventus and Bayern Munich. Given the pedigree of those sides, it is no mean feat.

The more impressive side of this is the teams that the Reds sit above on this chart. AC Milan, Dortmund and Liverpool all rank worse than them.

Given the elite standard of teams that surround them, it is a superb achievement to be among these names and quality.
