Birmingham City fans aren’t feeling the slightest bit confident ahead of their Championship clash with Wrexham on Friday.
The two League One rivals finally meet in the Championship on Friday night when Wrexham welcome Birmingham City to the Racecourse.
Both teams have enjoyed steady starts to the new season with Wrexham drawing 1-1 away at Leicester City on Tuesday night to find themselves in 15th place of the Championship table.
Birmingham City meanwhile are in 12th and two points ahead of the Dragons. But Blues fans aren’t feeling quite so confident ahead of Friday’s showdown.
Birmingham City in poor form ahead of Wrexham clash
After a shaky start for Phil Parkinson’s side, Wrexham are now unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, losing just one of their last eight.
Birmingham City meanwhile have won just one of their last five in the Championship, winning only once after a 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday in their last outing.
That game against Wednesday saw a lot of criticism aimed at manager Chris Davies on social media, and many fans are really starting to think that he might not be the man for the Championship.
Birmingham City fans predicting a loss against Wrexham
Posting on social media, there’s a wave of Birmingham City fans predicting defeat for their side on Friday night. “Genuinely think Wrexham leather us,” said one, as another added: “We ain’t beating Wrexham Friday. Scrape a draw at best.”
Similarly pessimistic Birmingham City fans weighed in with: “We are absolutely getting dominated by Wrexham in Friday aren’t we,” and also: “We’re getting battered by Wrexham on Friday.”
“Not hopeful for Wrexham but just get to the international break for two big weeks to try and iron out the glaring issues,” added this Blues fan.
Another wrote: “Not looking forward to Wrexham on Friday I don’t expect us to get a point or put in a half decent performance.”
Meanwhile, this Birmingham City fan posted: “Wrexham won’t even need to play football on Saturday. Just stay compact and play for set pieces. Worrying.”
