Following the FA Cup fourth-round draw, Wrexham’s opponents were named as Blackburn Rovers. They have taken a swipe at the Reds and one documentary moment.
This weekend saw Wrexham travel to face local rivals Shrewsbury as they looked for a second consecutive fourth-round FA Cup tie.
Going strong, Phil Parkinson named all his stars in his starting XI and it paid off as the Reds came away with a 1-0 win.
Thanks to a deflected strike by Tom O’Connor, a place in the next round draw was secured with some exciting potential opponents.

Wrexham have now learnt that they will travel to face Championship side, Blackburn Rovers. At the time of writing, they currently sit 17th in the league.
Following the reveal of the tie, the Rovers’ social media has taken a swipe at a certain documentary mistake by the Reds.
Blackburn take ‘directions’ swipe at Wrexham
As seen by Tom Flanagan’s comments in the past week, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElenney’s team are a target.
This has now seen Blackburn make a funny post to their social media to reveal the FA Cup fourth-round fixture.
In a post to their Twitter page, Blackburn said: “See you soon, Wrexham. Let us know if you need directions?”
The post features the map that was used in ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘ which certainly caused a stir on social media. This doesn’t come as a surprise given the positioning of some teams. Just as one example, Swansea and Cardiff have been moved closer to Devon…
This has been something to laugh at for many fans which Wrexham fans have also gotten on board with since it’s release.
The post is funny and has gained a lot of traction on social media with it having over 15k likes, at the time of writing.
How has it been reacted to?
It must be said that fans may not expect this as a reply but even Specsavers have gotten in on the fun and made their own comment.
They said: “We’ve booked them in.” Obviously taking a swipe at Wrexham for the random positioning of the different clubs on the map. It is a bit mad and no one can really blame them.
With all this being said, Reds fans have taken this the right way and have been reacting to the post themselves.
Owner of The Turf pub, Wayne Jones has reacted by saying: “Good banter. Looking forward to it. New ground for me. See ya soon!”
It is great to see this humility which is echoed by the majority of Wrexham fans. With the celebrity ownership and everything that comes with that, there are a lot of swipes taken. This one has been in good taste and is a good bit of fun before a huge FA Cup clash.
