Hugh Jackman has offered a behind-the-scenes view into Ryan Reynolds’ celebrations as Wrexham secured a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury.

It was a weekend to remember for Wrexham as they claimed their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup once again.

This weekend, Phil Parkinson’s side travelled the short journey to face local rivals Shrewsbury away from home. The game had some extra meaning behind it due to disrespectful comments made by Tom Flanagan pre-match.

It is safe to say the game didn’t go how the defender expected as the Reds came away with a 1-0 win on the day. Thanks to a deflected Tom O’Connor strike, the win was secured to send the fans and Rob McElhenney into delirium.

Despite dominating for large spells, the home side couldn’t make their chances count to take their place in round four.

Following the result, the reaction of the Wrexham co-owner, Ryan Reynolds has been posted by a celebrity friend.

It is no secret that the Reds owners are involved and truly want to see Parkinson and his players succeed on the pitch. This was shown in plentiful supply throughout ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘, which was great for fans to see.

They haven’t shied away from showing their emotions following promotion and consistently post to social media after games.

This game was about as stressful as they come. Shrewsbury had plenty of chances, many of which were guilt-edged and should have gone in. According to FotMob, the home side created 1.65 xG compared to Wrexham’s 0.61.

Once the Reds had taken the lead, Taylor Perry had two unbelievable chances and it is amazing that he didn’t score either. This left everyone associated with the club pretty stressed.

This saw Hugh Jackman react to the result by posting a picture of co-owner, Reynolds, to Twitter which showed his relief. He said: “HUGE! ROUND 4.”

Looking at his face, he sums up the relief that all fans felt once that full time whistle had been blown at the New Meadow.

It is great to see Reynolds showing passion but it is also enjoyable to see Hugh Jackman getting involved with Wrexham. He has been seen at games in the past but it appears his interest has now been maintained in recent weeks.

A place in round four awaits Wrexham, with the draw taking place on Monday night, hopefully the next draw is a big one for the Reds.
