Ryan Reynolds’ boyhood football team have made history, and more success could still follow.
Ryan Reynolds bought Wrexham alongside Rob Mac back in February 2021.
In the following years, the actors have allowed the Red Dragons to attract a global fanbase and take their football around the world.
Wrexham played out their 2025 pre-season tour in Australia and New Zealand, and have visited North America in previous summers.
That allowed Ryan to watch his current team in action against a side he grew up watching and was even tipped to buy this year.

Ryan Reynolds loved watching Wrexham face Vancouver Whitecaps
Reynolds watched Wrexham face Vancouver Whitecaps in the summer of 2024, with the Dragons securing a 4-1 win.
On the game, he said: “Wrexham playing the Vancouver Whitecaps was one of those pinch-me moments that as long as I live, will never forget.
“BC Place is the stadium I went to as a kid, I’ve been to BC Place maybe 100 times in my life and I’ve always sat way up in the nosebleeds with my dad and here I am, I’m in BC Place with my daughter, I’m in the owners’ box and you know, ——- them, that felt pretty good too.”
In February 2025, meanwhile, it was reported that Reynolds was looking to buy Vancouver Whitecaps, with a £300m fee mooted at the time.
A deal has not come to pass, but the MLS outfit seem to be doing fine without any help from the Wrexham co-owner.

Vancouver Whitecaps have made club history
Vancouver Whitecaps picked up a 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City on September 21.
Following that win, they have moved up to second place in the MLS Western Conference and made history.
Previously, the Canadian outfit’s highest-ever points total in a single campaign was 53 back in 2015.
However, they are now on 55 for the season with several games still to play in the 2025 campaign.
Vancouver are currently two points off league leaders San Diego FC, but they have two games in hand.
