Wrexham were able to welcome signing number six on Friday as defender Dan Scarr signed from Championship side Plymouth Argyle.

Phil Parkinson must be delighted with the business Wrexham have been able to pull off this summer.

Wrexham had to strengthen following back-to-back promotions and Parkinson has overseen a strong window.

Fans wanted to see the age profile of the squad come down a little and deals for Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan have helped with that.

George Dobson provides valuable League One know-how and backup stopper Callum Burton knows all about the EFL scene.

Wrexham have now added more League One experience with defender Dan Scarr finalising his move to the STōK Cae Ras.

Dan Scarr on Wrexham move

Scarr has plenty of games under his belt at 29 and has turned out more than 80 times at League One over the course of his career.

There is even a promotion from League One on Scarr’s record too, hading into the Championship with Plymouth Argyle in 2023.

Scarr is now looking to do it all again with Wrexham, joining this exciting project on a three-year deal.

The 6ft 2in defender makes the move to Wales having effectively been told that it was time to leave Argyle.

Pilgrims boss Wayne Rooney has admitted that he felt it was time for Scarr and Argyle to go their separate ways.

Scarr certainly seems excited by the move though – and so does his agent.

Scarr has told Wrexham’s official YouTube channel that his agent visited the STōK Cae Ras for a ‘couple of games’ last season.

The defender admitted that his agent felt the atmosphere was ‘electric’, leaving Scarr excited to get out there and play in front of the Wrexham fans.

“I’m buzzing, even my agent said he’d been to a couple of games last season and he said the atmosphere was really good, it was electric,” said Scarr. “I’m looking forward to getting out there and being a part of it, yeah,” he added.

How will Wrexham’s back line look against Wycombe Wanderers?

Wrexham are now just days away from the start of the League One season.

Wycombe Wanderers are first up on the Wrexham fixture list and Parkinson will be keen to start with a home win.

The Wrexham boss must now weigh up his starting XI and Scarr gives him another dilemma at the back.

Scarr is likely to play a key role moving forward but we actually expect him to start from the bench against Wycombe.

The new signing is still learning about his teammates about we would expect a back three of Max Cleworth, Eoghan O’Connell and Thomas O’Connor.

Brunt could come in on the left side but Scarr may have to wait for a first start as he settles in as a Wrexham player.
