Wrexham defender, Jordan Tunnicliffe has expressed his happiness to be back from injury and in the first-team fold once again.

Since joining Wrexham last summer, the defender has spent a sustained spell on the sidelines.

Despite Phil Parkinson’s side gaining promotion, Tunnicliffe was disappointed to miss out but has returned this campaign.

He appears to have returned with a mission as in his first start of the season against Bradford City he gained plaudits.

His manager referred to his performance as ‘top-class’ and he was deserving of all the praise he received.

What has Jordan Tunnicliffe said?

As previously mentioned, it was frustrating for the defender to miss large spells of the promotion push.

In spite of this, he was clearly pleased: “It was disappointing but I was behind the lads.

“If someone had said to me you can’t play the final five games but you are guaranteed promotion, I would have snapped their hand off.”

A great team player and he has shown that this season as well. Coming in when needed and performing to the top of his game.

Discussing his injury he said: “I have slowly been getting there and I was pleased to get out there against Bradford and play my part.”

Against the Bantams, he was part of the side that secured a point and had put on a defensive show to remember.

With plenty of blocks, tackles and interceptions he was unlucky not to come away with a clean sheet.

Opening up about the rest of the season he added: “I am fit now and just excited to play football. I have got the rest of the season to look forward to.”

It is great to have Tunnicliffe back, fit and firing. With the defensive addition that he brings, he makes the squad much improved.
