A Charlton Athletic reporter has made one Championship prediction about Wrexham and Birmingham City as a ‘promotion’ verdict is made about the clubs.
With the 2025/26 Championship season on the horizon for Wrexham, where they will kick off their campaign away at Southampton, there is every hope that Phil Parkinson’s side can continue on their upwards trajectory from previous years.
Wrexham notched automatic promotion last season from League One alongside Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, and the Blues in particular have also shown vast ambition by signing proven Championship talents, and even former Champions League man Kyogo Furuhashi.
Wrexham have prepared brilliantly for the upcoming season, with several signings coming through the doors at the Racecourse Ground, and it is clear that the Red Dragons are a team to be feared in the Championship.
Indeed, one Charlton Athletic reporter has discussed Wrexham, as well as Birmingham City, where he has spoken about the club’s ‘potential’ and the impact that the likes of Ryan Reynolds and Tom Brady have on the two clubs.

Wrexham told why they have ‘massive potential’ with ‘sugar daddies’ Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
Since the start of last season, Wrexham and Birmingham City have turned into a rivalry based on the clubs’ American audiences.
Wrexham, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac went head to head with Birmingham City twice last season, with the games ending in a draw and a win to the Blues.
The two American-owned clubs look set to be the biggest surprise packages in the upcoming Championship season, and that has been noted by Charlton Athletic reporter Richard Cawley, who, via Hull Daily Mail, wrote: “Birmingham City and Wrexham come up with massive potential and superstar sugar daddies: promotion looks a big stretch but it wouldn’t be too surprising if Blues are there or thereabouts.”
Like last season, Cawley has suggested that Birmingham City may have more quality than Wrexham in the Championship, especially after the excess of money spent by the Blues.

‘Superstars’ Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have offered more than financial backing
For onlookers, many will believe that Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s main impact at Wrexham is the financial backing they can offer to Phil Parkinson so the Red Dragons boss is able to bring in a wealth of talent. Whilst this is an aspect of the club’s recent success, it goes far beyond that.
The feel-good factor around the club has been birthed by Reynolds and Mac’s involvement at the club, whether it is spending time with the members of staff, or contacting each signing once they have joined the club.
Reynolds and Mac have restored hope and faith at the Racecourse Ground, and that has bled into the players who play with great belief and confidence.
