Phil Parkinson has made it clear there is no room for sentiment at Wrexham, with another long-time servant now allowed to leave.

Wrexham have won promotion once again ahead of 2025/26, and as was also the case in the previous two seasons, it means big changes are afoot.

The exodus began in May when eight players, including Steven Fletcher, were released for free.

More exits have followed, with the most recent seeing Jake Bickerstaff sent out on loan to Cheltenham Town.

The most high-profile exit so far, however, has been Paul Mullin leaving Wrexham to join Wigan Athletic for 2025/26.

Mullin was instrumental to the club reaching the third tier of English football, but after yet another promotion, he, along with two more big names, has been deemed surplus to requirements.

Wrexham ready to move on Elliot Lee

As The Wrexham Insider has previously revealed, Ollie Palmer has been offered to multiple clubs this summer.

Wrexham are ready to help the 33-year-old find a new club and, much like they did with Mullin, are willing to contribute toward his wages in order for a transfer to go ahead.

Both strikers arrived during Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds’ first full season in charge and played pivotal roles in all three promotions.

As for Elliot Lee, he was signed in the summer of 2022 from Luton Town and was prolific when the club finally ended a 15-year stint in the National League.

He was a regular feature last term as well, but the Daily Mail now reports that the attacking midfielder has fallen out of favour and could be allowed to leave before the transfer deadline on September 1.

Elliot Lee Wrexham stats

While Palmer and Mullin were axed in the second half of 2024/25 and only scored three goals each in the league, Lee had a much bigger role in their most recent promotion.

The 30-year-old finished the campaign with eight goals in the league and nine in all competitions, making him the club’s overall top goalscorer.

In total, the midfielder has scored 39 and assisted nine in 147 outings for the Red Dragons during his three seasons at the club.
