Wrexham have won over the views of one EFL expert, who believes they have been transformed by one summer signing.

Wrexham beat Norwich City to claim their second win of the 2025/26 Championship season.

It was a phenomenal showing by Phil Parkinson’s side, who now sit 15th in the Championship table after a vital win at Carrow Road.

The second half display by Wrexham showed them to be ruthless in front of goal, with Josh Windass leading the way with two brilliantly taken goals.

Windass levelled up the game in the second half with a brilliant finish from inside the box after he was picked out by Issa Kabore on the right flank, but his second was even greater, striking it from distance into the top right corner.

The former Sheffield Wednesday attacker shone on his return to the team from injury, and he has already helped to ‘spin’ games for the Red Dragons, according to one EFL expert.

Josh Windass heaped with praise after Wrexham beat Norwich City

The Wrexham win on the road saw Josh Windass steal the limelight with a phenomenal showing in Phil Parkinson’s side.

Following the Red Dragons’ victory against the Canaries, Windass was unsurprisingly hailed for his performance.

EFL expert Justin Peach, via the Second Tier Podcast, also praised his efforts, having helped and rectified the ‘wasteful’ concerns that Wrexham previously had.

Peach said: “I think Wrexham, in previous games, have been guilty of being very wasteful. Josh Windass being back in that team, I think, is a massive thing. I would argue that he’s probably one of the most important signings.

“He’s an X-factor player who can spin games and and he showed that with his screamer, for example.”

Josh Windass stats vs Norwich City

Josh Windass was clinical in the win against Norwich City, bagging two goals to put his Championship tally at three.

However, he was able to offer far more than that in the contest. Via SofaScore, Windass managed an 89% passing accuracy, while making one key pass and creating one big chance.

Windass also went close to another after hitting the woodwork with an effort.

The Wrexham attacker was unsurprisingly awarded with the Player of the Match accolade, reflecting on a performance that proved that Phil Parkinson has a number of goal outlets in his side.

During Windass’ absence, there were concerns that Wrexham would have to solely rely on Kieffer Moore for goals this season, but the former Sheffield Wednesday man has shown his immense quality for a summer signing that arrived on a free deal.
