Wrexham take on old foes Stockport County this weekend in a League One fixture that could have big ramifications in the race for promotion.
Stockport and Wrexham have been neck and neck throughout their journey from National League drudgery to soaring up the EFL.
The two sides finished 1st and 2nd in League Two last season and both have enjoyed excellent starts to life in the third tier.
Though County ended up on top last term, it’s Phil Parkinson’s side who have the advantage so far this season as the rivals gear up to face each other for the first time in the campaign.
Wrexham currently sit third, four points above sixth-placed Stockport having played a game a fewer.
The Red Dragons will be hoping to press on their advantage and close the gap on the top two with a victory.

Stockport County vs Wrexham team news
Wrexham’s ever-growing injury list got even longer this past week after the EFL Trophy outing against Port Vale.
Both Will Boyle and Luke Bolton picked up injuries in the match while No.1 goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has been side lined for six weeks.
Callum Burton will come in between the sticks for his first League One start.
That’s in addition to the already injured trio of George Evans, Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher.
Veteran striker Fletcher has now suffered a setback in his recovery, too.
“Steven Fletcher trained last week but has had a slight setback and he’s seeing a specialist today so we’ll know more after that,” said Parkinson in his pre-match press conference.
Parkinson also hinted that Jon Dadi Bodvarsson could come into start the game after being taken off after an hour to save his legs against Port Vale.
“Jon hasn’t played [much football] and I always wanted to bring him off after 60 minutes,” Parkinson said..
“I wanted to stretch Mo [Faal] longer but he was cramping up, and we couldn’t afford to get him or Jon injured because the league is so important.
“And we are already with Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher.”

Prediction
If things weren’t bad enough with the injuries, history is against Wrexham as well.
The Red Dragons have lost on their last four visits to Edgeley Park – 5-0 last time out – and their opponents picked up a galvanising 5-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last weekend.
Wrexham, though, will take confidence from the fact they have lost just one of their last eight matches, even if a lot of the wins have been narrow affairs.
Prediction: Stockport 2-2 Wrexham
