Wrexham fans will understandably have concerns about the attacking play under Phil Parkinson after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Harrogate Town.
Wrexham travelled to Yorkshire on Sunday in the hope of FA Cup success against Harrogate Town.
Instead, Wrexham were hit with a 1-0 defeat having turned in a disappointing performance against the League Two side.
Wrexham had more than 20 shots over the 90 minutes but only put five of them on target in a flat performance.
Paul Mullin’s poor day in front of goal left Wrexham fans concerned and Phil Parkinson feels this defeat is a ‘wake up call’ for Wrexham.

Jacob Mendy on Wrexham’s Elliot Lee
Wrexham’s attack has been dented by injuries to Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher, meaning Modou Faal – a project for the future – is now having to step up quicker than hoped.
New signing Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is enjoying his time at Wrexham but he isn’t yet match sharp as Parkinson seeks attacking solutions.
Everybody looks to strikers for goals but Wrexham do also have an attacking midfielder who contributes like a forward.
Elliot Lee has racked up 32 goals in 104 games for Wrexham since arriving in 2022, offering a real goal threat from midfield.
The 29-year-old didn’t start against Harrogate but was brought on with half an hour to play.
Lee couldn’t save Wrexham but he has been praised by teammate Jacob Mendy whilst speaking on the official FA Cup X account.
Mendy used just one word to describe Lee, branding him ‘magic’ whilst describing his Wrexham teammates.
Mendy has also praised Paul Mullin but clearly thinks that Lee provides something special in this Wrexham side.
Elliot Lee clearly ahead of Ollie Rathbone
Lee was a driving force behind Wrexham’s promotion last season and it’s no surprise to see him shining in League One too.
The former West Ham United taken has already scored four times in 13 League One games; only Jack Marriott has scored more for Wrexham this term.
Wrexham did spend on a new attacking midfielder over the summer though, luring Ollie Rathbone from Rotherham United.
Rathbone wasn’t at his best against Harrogate and has yet to really shine in a Wrexham shirt.
Maybe this develops into a real battle for first-team action later this season but, right now, Lee is clearly ahead of Rathbone and his ‘magic’ will need to be on show as Wrexham seek an attacking spark.
