Wrexham produced a stunning performance to grab a crucial three points at Bloomfield Road.
Phil Parkinson made three changes from the disappointing draw at home to Bristol Rovers and it had the desired impact as James McClean opened the scoring with a curling effort cutting in from the right.
Ollie Rathbone was excellent in the Wrexham player ratings v Blackpool and he secured the win a composed finish following a neat lay off from Jay Rodriguez.
Paul Mullin sent a message of support to his Wrexham team mates after the win and the Red Dragons are back in the driving seat for League One promotion. Mullin wasn’t the only one with a message for the team either.

James McClean reveals what Rob McElhenney did before Wrexham’s clash with Blackpool
Speaking to Wrexham’s official Matchday Live, captain McClean revealed that Rob McElhenney came and spoke to the Wrexham squad ahead of their vital clash at Bloomfield Road.
McClean stated: “Yesterday we had Rob come in and had a good chat with us and that just saying all the outside noise is good and bad, you’ve got to drown it out and just obviously relax.
“Obviously getting that from the owners, I think it took a lot of pressure off the lads today and you could see it in our play but look we’re in a great position but there’s two games to go.”
The result leaves the Red Dragons two points clear of Wycombe in third place following their defeat at home to Charlton Athletic but the Addicks can also steal automatic promotion and they visit the Racecourse Ground next up.
James McClean match statistics v Blackpool
McClean was left out of the side that drew with Bristol Rovers in place of Ryan Barnett but certainly proved his re-introduction to the side was the right decision from Parkinson.
The left wing-back was a constant outlet for Wrexham to hit and after drifting over to the right flank following a set-piece, he was able to cut inside and bend a terrific strike into the far corner.

It was his positivity going forward that really stood out at Bloomfield Road, McClean probably should have walked away from the match with a hat-trick after missing two glorious opportunities before his goal.
However, he was making penetrative runs into the box from the opposite flank and Parkinson will be calling upon his experience leader to do more of the same in the final two matches.
