Wrexham hold the second automatic promotion in League One having beaten Stockport County 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
We are now into single figures in terms of how many games Wrexham have left to play this season.
Eight games to go and promotion is in sight with Wrexham moving back up to second place on Saturday.
Wrexham beat Stockport County 1-0 at the STōK Cae Ras with Jay Rodriguez the hero for Phil Parkinson.
Stockport goalkeeper Corey Addai saved Jay Rodriguez’s penalty, but the former England striker reacted quickly to fire home the rebound.
That was enough for the victory with Stockport left furious over Wrexham’s penalty, given for a contentious Ibou Touray handball.

Jay Rodriguez on Wrexham project
Parkinson won’t pay that too much mind; this was just a second penalty of the League One season for Wrexham.
Rodriguez stepped up to take it and whilst Addai made the save, it still ended up in the back of the net.
Paul Merson hailed Rodriguez for his quick-thinking with the striker instinctively moving left to go along with the ball.
Rodriguez celebrated his first Wrexham goal on social media but has also offered his view on the bigger picture at the STōK Cae Ras.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Rodriguez admitted that he wants to ‘dream big’ at Wrexham – with the Premier League his aim.
Rodriguez added that he thinks the Wrexham project under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds is ‘massive’.
The veteran forward would only leave Burnley for something ‘big’ – and Wrexham provided that for him.
“You have to dream big otherwise there’s no point in turning up every day and working hard. The best place to be is in the Premier League,” said Rodriguez.
“We’ve got eight really important games now. You can’t look too far ahead but you can dream, but you have to take care of business. It’s really admirable that the club’s been from where it’s been to be where it is now and it’s still pushing now, it’s something I’m really proud to be a part of.
“It’s a big thing for me to leave my hometown club Burnley, it had to be a really big project, and obviously Wrexham is a massive project. To be asked to come along, I’m grateful for the opportunity. It had to be a big thing, and it was a good situation for all,” he added.
Jay Rodriguez could receive double delight
Wrexham can’t go counting any chickens here; there are eight games to go but Wycombe can move level on points again if they win their game in hand.
There could be twists and turns to come, but the aforementioned Merson loves Wrexham’s run-in fixtures.
Wrexham have a great chance to secure promotion and Rodriguez’s boyhood club Burnley are making similar moves.
The Clarets sit third in the Championship table, just two points behind second-placed Sheffield United and league leaders Leeds United.
Burnley have lost just two league games all season and will hope to be back in the Premier League next season.
Rodriguez will be dreaming of a double promotion here, one for Burnley and one for Wrexham – having had a hand in both.
That would make for quite the celebration, but Rodriguez has an experienced head on his shoulders and won’t be getting too far ahead of himself right now.
