Welcome to Wrexham season 2, episode 1 builds up to King Charles visit
The first two episode of the series is now available to stream. Fans in the US could binge the first episode on Tuesday, 12 September, 2023. However, if you missed that, it’s still available to stream on Hulu from Wednesday September 13.
Fans in the UK, meanwhile, were treated to the first episode on Disney+ on Wednesday September 13.
Episode 1 of the new series is titled, ‘Welcome Back to Wrexham’.
The episode dives into what happened in the summer between the last two league campaigns, culminating in King Charles III visiting the club in December.

King Charles made an It’s Always Sunny joke when he first met Rob McElhenney
McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds eventually met Charles and Camilla at the club’s Racecourse Ground towards the end of 2022.
Given the regal visit, you’d have expected the mood to have been pretty serious, however, according to Executive Director of Wrexham AFC, Humphrey Ker, Charles lightened the mood with a little joke.
When meeting McElhenney, Charles was told by the actor that he now lives in Los Angeles, but was raised in Philadelphia.
“I hear it’s always sunny there,” the King joked, reference Rob’s hit comedy show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
“He knew full well, ” Ker added. “He was very pleased with his joke and he said that he’s got people to tell him, keep him abreast of what’s going on and set him up for these sorts of things. They had a great time.”
Ker also revealed that McElhenney and Reynolds “did their training” and took the meeting with the royals “very seriously,” adding: “I think they prepared well for everything and it all passed off without a hitch.”

Episodes 2 and 3 will arrive on Tuesday, September 19
The official synopsis for the second season reads: “After a painful elimination in the playoffs, season two continues to track the club as they fight for promotion out of the National League and return to the English Football League.
“Dedicated staff and supporters hold on to the dream of returning the team and town to glory while bracing for the new-found challenges that fame has brought to their small community.”
Welcome to Wrexham season 2 will now be released in two-episode batches. Episodes 2 and 3 will debut on Tuesday, September 19 and episodes 4 and 5 will debut on Tuesday, September 26.
