Wrexham have made a fine start to life in League One and Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has commented on the club’s rise.
Wrexham’s back-to-back promotions mean Phil Parkinson is now rubbing shoulders with major League One clubs.
Just 18 months ago, Wrexham were playing non-league football.
Now, former Premier League sides such as Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town, Reading and Wigan Athletic are the competition.
Nobody could have believed in a Birmingham City v Wrexham league game just a few years ago – especially with Tom Brady and Rob McElhenney involved.
That is the reality for Wrexham now though and with six wins from 10 games this season, Parkinson has made a superb start.

League One boss on Wrexham ‘movie stars’
The international break is upon us but Wrexham fans will already have one eye on the next League One game.
Saturday’s 4-1 win over Northampton Town saw Wrexham get back to winning ways at the STōK Cae Ras.
When League One action returns, Wrexham will be back on the road again, travelling to take on Rotherham United.
The Millers went through enormous squad changes over the summer after re-appointing former boss Steve Evans.
Rotherham have so far struggled to click in League One, winning just three of their first 10 outings.
Evans would no doubt love a big home win over Wrexham having already compared Parkinson’s side to the Harlem Globetrotters.
We pointed out at the time that, away from the celebrity ownership, there is nothing nearly as flashy about Wrexham as there is the Harlem Globetrotters.
Evans has doubled down on that comparison though, repeating the claim whilst speaking to the Yorkshire Post.
Rotherham face Peterborough United this weekend but Evans is looking to take down Wrexham and the ‘movie stars’ around the club.
“Wrexham come here in between. I’ve described them as the Harlem Globetrotters of League One,” said Evans.
“Birmingham are the boys with the big money. Wrexham have also got money, but they’ve got the movie stars as well. Our only focus now, quite rightly, is Peterborough, with a degree of focus towards Newcastle,” he added.
Wrexham will want to improve away form
Evans is, of course, pointing to Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds here but perhaps also the likes of Blake Lively, Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell.
Those other celebrities have been spotted at Wrexham games in the past and certainly add to the ‘Hollywood club’ image.
On the pitch though, Wrexham are not about the glitz and glamour; Parkinson has built a strong and hard-working team who get the job done more often than not.
One issue is away form though with Wrexham struggling a little on the road this season.
Wrexham have won just one of five away games this season and will be keen to improve, starting at Rotherham.
The game will see Ollie Rathbone return to Rotherham for the first time since joining Wrexham and he would love to play his part in a big away day victory.
