Wrexham host Tranmere Rovers in a crucial League Two clash on Saturday afternoon.
The race for promotion out of League Two is so tight right now.
Wrexham occupy third position in the table but following their goalless draw against Harrogate Town on Tuesday night, the Reds are just two points behind leaders Mansfield.
Following the tense ending to their National League campaign last term, with Wrexham getting the better of Notts County in one of the most fascinating title battles in history, Phil Parkinson’s men have been in this position before.
The majority of their squad were part of that success, and they’ve only added to that experience with the signings of Steven Fletcher and James McClean.
It is therefore no surprise to see many predict Wrexham to win promotion, despite still so much work left to be done before their fate is decided.
Ahead of their clash against Tranmere, manager Nigel Adkins has issued his prediction for Wrexham.

Despite just taking three priceless points from Mansfield in midweek to aid Wrexham’s promotion challenge, Adkins was convincing with his praise for the Reds and believes they will get promoted.
He told Tranmere Rovers official website: “The next game is Wrexham. Tough opposition. A team that will get promoted this season. A team that’s heavily financed and backed. They’re up the top of the division and they’re up there for a reason because they’re a good side. So, we respect that, but we’re a good side as well. On any day, we can beat anybody, we’ve just got to make sure that we turn up.”
It’s impossible to call the promotion race in League Two, but Adkins believes the class that Wrexham possess will shine through in the end.
Particularly in recent weeks, the Reds seem to have found their groove again after going through some patchy form.
Victories by handsome margins over Accrington Stanley and Morecambe have reaffirmed their position in the automatic promotion place.
Of course, there is still a lot of football to play but with the incredible squad that Parkinson can choose from, you feel there is plenty more to come from Wrexham before the season ends.
And, that means winning and continuing their recent good form by beating Tranmere on Saturday.
Adkins men have the second-worst away record in the division and have only won three of their 19 games.
That record alone points towards a must-win for Wrexham, but at the STōK Cae Ras, in front of their raucous crowd, they’ll expect to see another crucial three points won in their bid for promotion.
